Its not only that the website is a disaster its the WHOLE concept of socialized medicine. The doctors are opting out as they refuse to work for nickels and Hospitals are opting out in record #'s as they refuse to be VA style way stations. The idea that you would FORCE healthy young folks to subsidize elderly and the poor is not a democracy anylonger. Do you also understand that you are asking the middle class and the young, just graduating kids to pay an absorbant amount for healthcare in a economy thats seen record unemployment and Huge student loans obligations. Where is the money going to come from?

It also gets down to FORCING people to pay for care, they don't need, ie. prenatel care, etc. The whole concept falls flat on its face as well when the Employer mandate hits. That will cull the full timers into part timers and companies will adjust work force to the 49 employee mark to hit Under the ACA requirements. Prices have skyrocketed for 85% or more of all who have signed up. This disaster costs Billions of hard earned income, reallocated back to the Govt and Insurance co.s and this boondogle will turn into single payer which is what these progressives want. This is the BIGGEST fraud ever perpetuated on the American public and Impeachment should begin.

Also, TOP DOC: Obamacare will do nothing to control healthcare costs. Was't that SOLD to us as well?

Enrollment was VERY slow in MA when the program started.

Extend your attention span.

I am getting a little tired of comparisons to MassCare.

Massachussetts is home to the most highly-educated population in the union, and accordingly has one of the highest median incomes per household. Relatively low unemployment rate. Think about the lists you've seen ranking the healthiest to unhealthiest states. Where does Massachusetts rank in those lists?

When MassCare rolled out, citizens of the state were not greeted with the sticker shock those logging onto Healthcare.gov are experiencing (though premiums on average did increase). In the coming months we will see a flood of sick and elderly into the pool, further driving up costs.

Similar law but vastly different consumer base.

Now this is insane. The green is the lines of code to create the Obamacare site( I am not sure how much it entails, so it could also include the SS/IRS/Etc databases with this, but that just seems like an insane amount of code. They should just blow it up)

That's incredible.

Of course it's different, but it's the closest comparison we have.

I just think anyone pointing to MassCare and expecting similar results might be disappointed.

CBS is reporting that under 300 people have enrolled on the exchange. Even with the problems with the system can that number possibly be true?

Maybe. I was only pointing out that enrollment was very slow starting in both cases.

Um...forcing people to buy insurance form privately owned companies is about as far from socialism as it gets. Maybe you should read a book.

You still don't get it. Obamacare's goal it to retire private insurance companies, ie SINGLE PAYER Govt run SYSTEM. Private insurers are being MANDATED to enroll people in programs Not needed, overseen by Govt Panels, and that my friend is Socialized Medicine even before the Vaunted single payer system takes over. Do alittle research on Socialism, Alynsky and you'll see where this is headed and HOW the idea was formulated. I already Have.

BTW I love how that graph is headed "It's supposed to be slow." I was told people would be clamoring for affordable health insurance.

I don't agree that "it's supposed to be slow". I was just post in the number of people who signed up in the first month of the MassCare exchange. Some perspective is needed.

Simply, I've seen the light. I am no longer skeptical because I looked at that graph telling me enrollment is supposed to be slow.

I'm not sure why you feel the need to constantly create straw men. No one has said that there was no cause for concern. No one has said that there's no place for skepticism. We are simply providing you with facts.

I am concerned. I am skeptical. I also don't expect the effect of the ACA to be realized in three weeks.
