Is A 1-3 Start What The Falcons Needed?

After a day to think about it and how the season has gone it has gone perfect.

Because we were the same team last year the difference is Matt Ryan bailed them out 8 times and is 0-2 this year think we'd be 3-1 and oh well we lost a close game against the pats we should have never even been in.

Point blank this team is lacking "Elite" talent outside of Matt and Julio the Falcons have no corner stones sure you can make an argument for TG,Roddy or even Jackson but still those guys are on the decline.

Look at the past teams that have won the Superbowl after having a so so year in the Packers,Ravens and Giants they all had players who could be considered corner stone players like Clay Mathews or JPP or Ngata and suggs to go along with players like Rice,Flacco Manning and Rodgers.

Now that were banged up on offense and have a very green OL in Konz and Holmes who both had been really bad and fill in's with Trueblood and Rynolds.

What did you really expect? if we stayed healthy we had a shot because we have Ryan take away the few good players we have on defense and some on offense and this is what you get.

We can't continue to pass on guys like Justin Houston who was a 3rd rounder or Dez Bryant who yes isn't as good as Julio but would have cost much less in picks to gamble on some high upside players is the only way you can continue to bring in elite talent with out trading a boat load of draft picks for one player we have plenty of good guys who can mentor the young guys who may have been in a little trouble. And I'm not saying draft a guy who's been arrested say 5 times or something like that.

This all goes on TD and his only escape goat is Mike Smith and its going to take some magic because guys like holmes,Mass,Konz,Trufant,McClain,Peters,Jerry,

Alford,Dcoud,Goodman,Mathews nobody has stepped up the only guy who has stepped up is Akeem Dent who even still isn't that good of a player but has improved.

Maybe this is just what these players needed because they have been humbled after going 1-3 and that's not good enough because of the success we've had for the last 5 seasons.

I think Smith needs to start Benching guys like Decoud and Babs who just haven't played like there capable of playing look what Snelling and Rodgers did against the dolphins and Dent after seeing these young LB's taking snaps away from them seems like these guys are to comfortable. Because I don't think just staying the course and weathering the storm and getting healthy is going to be enough you have to look at it from the other side what does the jets have to loose next week nobody thinks there going to win so there kind of playing with house money same with teams like the Panthers and bills.

Even if we get healthy and make the playoffs we have no shot at winning Two road games heck just making the playoffs would be a huge accomplishment in itself. I definitely overrated some of these young guys like Mass peters and Holmes right now there solid rotational players and have no business starting.

I think some adversity is good and it might help us in the long run...lets be honest, we've had it good for the better part of the last 5 years. Now we have to see if the adversity makes or breaks this team. Real results should show after the bye week.

heres another one - if we are healthy and have a 1-3 record , I think blaming the coach is a legitimate thing - but since thats not the case, this is the NFL and things can happen to destroy a season that is just no ones fault . How can you honestly assign blame under the current circumstances ??

Injuries are injuries as Mike Smith said next man up and it seems like we're lacking talent sure if you loose a Clay Mathews or Matt Ryan there's really no replacing that but we lost Sean Weatherspoon a good player and really a replaceable player and Kroy who does a lot of stuff good but nothing great these guys are replaceable and we just lack the talent behind those guys.

And it was TD who decided to keep baker and let McClure go and cut Clabo sure there not great talents by any means but they knew the systems and played well as a unit so he created that problem now throw in the injuries to Baker,Jackson and White and this is what you get.

Its really to early to place blame but if there is anyone to blame it starts with TD.

heck with that logic the whole d is replaceable - where can we get an all pro starting unit ?? Regardless who you think are replacable , if the talent drops off it degrades the defense and makes it weaker and more vulnerable.
