Where's The Killer Instinct?

Has this team become so comfortable with their ability to potentially come from behind in the closing minutes of a ball game to win, that they just rest on those laurels and don't put games away when they should? The Dolphins are a very good team, but the Falcons should have won yesterday. We settled for 4 attempted FG's (converted 3). In the NFL, you can NEVER SETTLE for FG's. Our defense played exceptionally well (the best they've played all year), but our offense sputtered for some reason. Quizz had a decent game, and Julio was the same Julio as usual. Roddy just needs to not play for a week and give his ankle time to heal. He is nothing more than a decoy out there and doesn't really give the defense much to worry about.

I just absolutely hate how we are so non challant about our games. There is no fire in this team. No emotion during the middle of the game. The only time we show any emotion is when we win the game in the last seconds of a ball game.

Completely agree. We've got to be the worst second half team in the league this year, out of teams that play well enough in the first half to still be in the game in the second half. We appear to be either playing scared or playing way too comfortably. It seems as if we have the big head and always count on something happening to squeak out a win. It's not happening this year.

Look at this box score.. We dominated in every single aspect except for 3rd downs. The Falcons were completely dominant, but we just cannot find a way to keep our offense on the field when it comes to 3rd downs. We need to spend a week of practice in various 3rd down conversion attempts. Then and only then, will this team be able to sustain a 2nd half lead and put games away like they are supposed to.

I said the same thing this morning but not as educated sounding, we have lost our mojo from the start of the 2nd half to the middle of the 4th quarter---we need a "tude" be the dirty birds not the Opie Taylor's of the league

Players need to have a killer instinct too. Who is that player for the falcons?

One player with a killer instinct isn't going to make the team have it. Really wish people would stop acting like players have this magical gift to give everybody around them their talent...this isn't basketball, you don't hinge your hopes on the success of one player

There is none with this coaching staff. How many times are we going to have leads and either blow them or play it safe and conservative allowing teams to come back. Is this staff going to take shots and be more aggressive? Will they not learn from the past? I guess we'll find out. This was an ugly loss in the sense that we really had no business losing it. One thing I'd like someone to clear up, Mike Smith was saying we lost the turnover battle, but correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't it 2-2: ATL: HD fumble and the Ryan INT - which was forced because he was trying to make a play with very little time left. Smith could have saved a lot of time had he used a TO after the beig MIA play to get them down inside the 5). MIA: INT and fumble from the sack.

Smitty has been traumatized ever since the failed 4th and 1 vs the Saints.. He wont take chances .. We could have thrown a pass when nobody was covering the gunners on the punt.. we could gave gone for it on 4th and goal at the end of the half.. OR faked the FG.. It wouldnt have bothered me if we didnt make it . It shows guts.. we show none anymore

O-Line cant keep the heat off Matty on 3rd down

Games SHOULD HAVE won : 1) Jan.20,2012 - 49'ers - playoff nightmare. 2) Sept.8,2013 - Saints - gift wrapped special. 3) Sept.22,2013 - Dolphins - crapped their pants again. Anyone see a pattern here ??

Up by 21 vs Rams, almost blew it. Up big against SEA in the playoffs, almost blew it. Up 10 twice against MIA, blew. Just a few examples, but yes there is definitely a pattern.
