Matt Ryan Blows Mannings 5Th Year Stats Away

Recommended Posts

Ryan was much better in his 5th year development than Manning was. And he is still getting better. Matt beat Peyton handily in every major statistical category.

With Jackson on board in the passing game would not shock me if Ryan cracked 70% completion rate in 2013. Plumb scary if you are an NFC DC ...

Manning year 5 - 66.3 completion % Ryan - 68.6

Manning year 5 - yards - 4200 Ryan - 4719

Manning year 5 - YPG - 262.5 Ryan - 294

Manning year 5 - TDs - 27 Ryan - 32

Manning year 5 - YPA - 7.1 Ryan - 7.7

Manning year 5 - INTS - 19 Ryan - 14

Manning year 5 QBR - 88.8 Ryan - 99.1

Russell Wilson and RG3 rookie season stats BLOW RYAN rookie stats out of water

To be fair, their offensive systems were out of the norm and much different than Matt's. Ryan was stuck with a conservative OC and HC in a traditional power running offense.

Reggie Wayne wasn't the Reggie Wayne we know right now in 2002 so all Manning really had to work with was Marvin Harrison. Ryan had a much better supporting cast than Peyton did in his 5th year.

The Falcons leading rusher in the NFCCG was quiz Rodgers. I think he had around 30 yards rushing. Nice run support....

BS, he had Harrison, Wayne, Ismael, Pollard, and Edgerrin James, they went to the playoffs, if that aint a cast, WTF is ? ...blink.png

The Colts leading rusher that 2002 season was Edgerrin James and he averaged a whopping 3.6 ypc for 989 yards in the 2002 season. Guess the Colts didn't have much run support either...

Reggie Wayne was in his second year and a good receiver with around 700 yards that year but not the Pro Bowl Reggie Wayne were all familiar with. Marcus Pollard was decent, he had 478 yards and 6 TD's. Ismael didn't even reach 500 yards, he was like our Harry Douglas. Like I said Manning's only real weapon in 2002 was Marvin Harrison.

James was hurt much of the year. His BACKUP, James Mungro, had 8 rushing TD's that year - same as Michael Turner in 2012.

You so crazy, that team was loaded in 2002, he had a top 5-10 O line as well ....
