Carter
VGChartz compiled a list of PS4 and Xbox One preorder numbers in the US through the first week of availability and Battlefield 4 came in as the most preordered game on both consoles. Surprisingly, this generation's top selling franchise, Call of Duty, tallied up enough preorders to be just number 5 on both platforms. Here are the US-only numbers VGChartz collected for the week ending June 15th:Playstation 4 preorders: 75,000Xbox One preorders: 45,000Playstation 4 top 10:1. Battlefield 42. Watch Dogs3. Killzone: Shadow Fall4. Madden NFL 255. Call of Duty: Ghosts6. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag7. Need for Speed Rivals8. FIFA Soccer 149. Knack10. DriveclubXbox One top 101. Battlefield 42. Dead Rising 33. Ryse: Son of Rome4. Madden NFL 255. Call of Duty: Ghosts6. Watch Dogs7. Forza Motorsport 58. Kinect Sports Rivals9. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag10. Need for Speed Rivalshttp://www.vgchartz.com/article/251076/ps4-vs-xbox-one-pre-order-totals-to-june-15th-2013/It should be noted that these are not exact data collections and do not include any online preorders. Just to be sure that these numbers aren't taken too seriously or misinterpreted as complete. Not trying to create any arguments or anything, just think it's kinda interesting to follow how games trend. I expect COD to climb the list as we get closer to November, but it's nice to see BF4 is getting a lot of attention. Will be interesting to see how preorders are affected by MS changing their policies. Dharma Initiative
That would go against the rumored 4:1 preorder ratio
duncja
From what I've personally seen, it's been 2 to 1. That could change with the MS changes.
Carter
That would go against the rumored 4:1 preorder ratioIt would, but this is a collection from limited sources in the US only and does not include online preorders. Most notably Amazon where PS4 has reportedly had big numbers. I'd like to find better (more complete) numbers, but we probably won't get a big picture on the totals for a while longer.Analysts seem to expect PS4 to still outsell in North America despite the big policy change working in Microsoft's favor. Price is the primary reason, but they also mention consumer skepticism. It's worth mentioning that Sony is manufacturing a lot more PS4's than Microsoft is doing with XB1 for the launch window, so there are more PS4's available to be preordered to begin with. I'm more interested in the game preorder numbers though.
muskokas finest ©
That would go against the rumored 4:1 preorder ratioUnless that ratio is worldwide. Microsoft seems to be abandoning markets outside of North America.
Carter
Ok apparently VGChartz is a horrible source. They've admitted to making stuff up before. Wasn't aware of that so apologies guys... I'll keep an eye out for a more credible source.

slamee101
On Amazon anyway... Xbox One preorders jump past PlayStation 4 after Microsoft drops DRMhttp://news.yahoo.com/xbox-one-preorders-jump-past-playstation-4-microsoft-142532847.htmlWhen Microsoft finally announced its policies regarding Xbox One game-sharing, used game sales and connectivity requirements, gamers were not happy at all. While some people thought Microsoft’s new policies would help usher in the future of console gaming, a much more vocal group found them restrictive and anti-consumer. The critics were loud enough that Microsoft ultimately decided to reverse course and cancel all of its controversial plans. Was this the right move? Implications for the Xbox’s future aside, the short-term impact of Microsoft’s decision is already being felt: Just one day after Microsoft announced the removal of DRM and connectivity requirements, pre-sales of the Xbox One jumped ahead of Sony’s PlayStation 4 on Amazon.com.Since Microsoft and Sony each made their E3 announcements, preorders of both the standard edition PlayStation 4 and the launch bundle have topped Microsoft’s Xbox One on Amazon.com, as ranked by the site’s best-sellers list in the video games category. Now that Microsoft has announced thatXbox One consoles will not need to connect to the Internet once every 24 hours and that games can be shared or resold without restrictions, the Xbox One catapulted above both PS4 bundles and is now the top-selling item in Amazon’s video games category.Microsoft’s Xbox One will launch this coming November for $499, which includes a limited edition controller and a Kinect sensor. Wouldn't the number of PS4s ordered through the multiple options still be more than the # of Xbox Ones?
Carter
That news bit they have been running with is so irritating. Only because there are multiple PS4 bundles and just one Xbox One SKU. I just don't like inaccurate or misleading info getting passed off as factual.PS4 is the #2 best selling video game item of the year on Amazon, while Xbox One is #6. PS4 is still outselling by a significant margin on Amazon.http://www.amazon.co...&tag=plays0b-20On Amazon UK, PS4 is #4 and Xbox One is #70.http://www.amazon.co...g_bsar_cal_ye#1I just get irritated with misleading news stories.
