Carter
Many were looking forward to some form of info on a new Battlefield: Bad Company entry at E3, as it was rumored for some time that Bad Company 3 had already been in production for a while. Turns out those rumors were untrue if you believe DICE. With three big projects underway (Battlefield 4, Star Wars Battlefront, Mirror's Edge 2) they have a full slate of work. So there is no Bad Company 3, but they haven't ruled out letting another studio handle it. Despite fan demand, Battlefield: Bad Company 3 isn't something DICE could even realistically be working on. Speaking with IGN about the status of Bad Company 3, DICE executive producer Patrick Bach said, “Right now, I would not say we have the bandwidth to do it at the DICE studio in Stockholm." The Stockholm-based developer currently has Battlefield 4, Star Wars: Battlefront, and a new Mirror's Edge in development, alongside its Frostbite 3 and Frostbite Go engines.Bach continued, "We can always find talented people around the world," and echoed previous statements by saying “The Bad Company series is by no means killed or anything, it’s still out there.”Bach also went onto explain how the core mechanics that defined Bad Company's multiplayer made a natural transition into the mainline franchise -- namely the destructible environments and squad commands.“We merged the Battlefield main game with Bad Company," Bach explained. "And we’ll continue to do it. I won’t say we’ll never build another Bad Company game, but right now we’re focusing on Battlefield 4.”DICE currently has no Bad Company in production. But, hey, if DICE can bring Mirror's Edge back, Bad Company definitely stands a chance.http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/14/e3-2013-dice-has-no-bandwidth-for-battlefield-bad-company-
RHEC
Why wouldn't they? BC was their better franchise. I guess we will never get 2143 either.
