The last few Falcons punters weren't big punters of the ball but they were always good at dropping it within the 20. Pretty sure this was a coaches directive but both stryz and koenan made this their speciality.

Stryz was a coffin corner specialist. He could get down between the 5 yard line and go out of bounds. Koenan was more of hang time with no chance to return

Stryzinski had some phenomenal hang time...I'm thinking we set some sort of record in terms of least amount of return yards given up while he was the punter if my memory is correct.

We did set the all-time NFL record for fewest punt yards allowed in a season under Koenen with only 43 return yards the entire season.

It came down to Koenen vs. Stryzinski for me. The tiebreaker was the Falcons setting the record for fewest punt return yards in a season with Koenen back in 2008 or which ever year it was.

I really don't know why people though so highly of Koenan. He didn't give up much return yardage, but the year he set the NFL record his gross punting average was horrible (we were 30th in the NFL, almost 9 yds per punt less than the top teams), and even with negligible return yaradage given up his net avg was only mid table.
