Is Washington Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett doing a favor for a couple of his New Orleans Saints draft picks from a decade ago?

The Redskins announced Wednesday the signings of veteran wide receivers Donte' Stallworth and Devery Henderson.

Stallworth was a first-round selection by the Saints in the 2002 NFL Draft. Henderson was plucked in the second round two years later. Both players attracted scant interest on the open market as free agents.

Although Stallworth has experience in the offense of Mike and Kyle Shanahan from 11 games with the Redskins in 2011, he went unsigned last season until the New England Patriots picked him up as a December flier.

Once a deep-threat specialist with questionable hands in New Orleans, Henderson saw his role with the Saints gradually scaled back over the past few seasons. The Redskins already have a younger, faster version of Henderson in Aldrick Robinson.

Neither Stallworth nor Henderson is a good bet to crack the final roster, but the Redskins will have them on speed dial if Pierre Garcon and Leonard Hankerson suffer through another season of nagging injuries.

I didn't read the post, but +1 you for WFW.

Yeah, Donte hasn't done too much in recent years. Devery could probably still go deep though, he's not going to be a dominant receiver overall but he will add more to their deep passing game.

Devery lost a step but His hands have gotten better to where he could stay in the intermediate range. Hes a solid vet who NEVER says anything bad or does anything bad

I always liked him, and I know Brees loved him at one point.

with Devery officially gone, Will Smith is the last player on the Saints roster that was here before Payton

WOW!! It sucks when you see a once great team have their final change. Ronde's retirement this spring was our last key from our Super Bowl win and a once GREAT defense.

It sucks to see incredible chapters in football close like that.

Thats why i enjoy watching Payton manning so much. He might not have as many ring as Brady. But he made it happen every week with some crappy colts teams. He made passing a art form. Gonna be sad when he retires.

Screw Brady i hate him and the pats. :)

Couple of decent vets to have around for camp. I doubt they make the final roster but you never know. Depends on how many wide receivers Mike wants on the roster. I think there were six last season and will probably carry six this year as well.
