Willy Mo
http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/heterosexuals-do-not-have-equality-cries-straight-pride-activist-group/politics/2013/05/30/67724A group calling themselves Straight Pride, the “campaign for heterosexual equal rights” is claiming that “Heterosexuals do not have equality, homosexuals have more rights then any sector of society.” The UK-based group, which seems to be primarily a website,Twitter account, and a Facebook page with all of four “likes,” nevertheless is garnering the attention of the British media and even UK former Culture Club pop star Boy George, who offered this thought today:“We are a small group of people campaigning for the same rights as homosexuals, the right to Pride,” the Straight Pride website announces — which sounds perfectly reasonable, except that they’ve had that since the dawn of time. Barney Frank, upon winning Equality Forum‘s International Role Model Award earlier this month, had what would be the perfect response:“Let’s be clear. We don’t talk about our sexuality any more than straight people do. The difference is when we talk about sexuality, it’s called ‘coming out.’ When straight people discuss their sexuality it’s called ‘talking.’”But Straight Pride doesn’t stop there. Claiming they are “oppressed and silenced,” they announce:We want the right to march and say that we are straight and proud, in the current political correct society we are unable to do this.In a world where well over 90 percent of people exhibit “straight pride” every day by getting out of bed and interacting with people who automatically assume they are straight, claiming they are “unable to do this” is bunk. “The creator of the account is rumored to be a Christian blogger who in the past has called gay people ‘terrorists’, ‘evil not natural’, and claims they are ‘crushing democracy,’” the UK LGBT news site Gay Star News reported earlier this month. While many assume the account to be a parody, Gay Star News were quickly blocked when we tried to contact the user. Here are Straight Pride’s goals:To raise awareness of the heterosexual part of society and make sure that their presence is know and their views are heard. In current political correct society, the Government focus too much on the homosexual minority, this is not equal. We must raise awareness of heterosexuality.Heterosexuals do not have equality, homosexuals have more rights then any sector of society. They have the right to take over city streets, dress ridiculously, and parade with danger and contempt. Straight Pride, is normal everyday people, dressed normally, walking normally, to raise awareness of being straight, and being PROUD to be heterosexual.Homosexuals have more rights then others, they also have ‘special rights’ which trump others, cause problems for faith organisations, hotels, alike, heterosexuals must have rights to refuse, it is not ‘homophobic’ or ‘bigoted’ it is a persons right to without fear of being silenced or abused. No, this is not a joke, this is the culmination of the anti-gay movement, aided by the religious right and homophobia, with the addition of a sense of entitlement and the knowledge that the world is changing.
