Udfa Discussion

Sooooo....I'm bored.

This part of the offseason is boring. Maybe TD will break up the monotony and sign someone in the next few weeks, but for now, it's still boring.

So, to break up the boring, let's revisit our UDFAs. I've been spending a lot of time over the last few weeks watching as much film (mostly complete games) on the guys that we signed, as possible, and I feel like I have a pretty good handle on what we have now. So, who do you like?

Hey, it's worth a try. Like I said, I've been watching a lot of game film on our undrafted guys, in an attempt to break up the monotony. Things are boring right now, so I thought I'd try to get some discussion going. It may not work, but, hey, why not.

If you want to break up the monotony, start a Kaep >>> Ryan thread.

So in a, probably futile, attempt to steer this thread back on topic, who's everyone's favorite UDFA LB, Oline, etc.?

Since you said you've watched a lot of video on these guys, and as of yet I and many others have not, perhaps you would be so kind as to post your thoughts first? Personally, I have a gut feeling Clancy is going to do well, but that isn't based on actual tape observation.

Well, to be honest, My initial idea of this thread was that people would bring up individual players and then I would respond to them. I mean, there are 24 of these guys. I've watched tape on almost all of them, but I wanted more discussion, rather than just me prognosticating. Also, keep in mind, that I, in no way, consider myself an expert, and I didn't want to appear as though I were acting as if I was one.

Since you mentioned Clancy, though, I'll adress him. In watching him, I was kinda torn. He isn't the most athletic LB out there, but he is very intelligent. I wouldn't exactly call his play instinctive, but rather, he's such a student of the game that reacts quickly. However, he isn't overly athletic, so it limits what he can do. He was also playing on a really bad defense over all, which may have contributed to what I saw. To me, he doesn't seem to have that high of a ceiling, but he's, arguably, the most pro ready guy that we signed.
