SaintsFanInLA
Nothing too deep or profound in this post but would you agree that what separates bad teams from good teams is about 3-5 plays a game and what separates good teams from great teams is about the same 3-5 plays a game?So in the end the difference between bad teams and great teams is about 6-10 plays a game. Rave
Yep....especially if you are talking for the whole season. Dallas was literally 3 plays from being 10-6 instead of 8-8 in 2011. They were 1 play from being 9-7 in 2012.

Trouble
Yes Smitty says this all the time but the good teams makes these plays consistantly.Yep im sick of hearing smitty say that every week. But it is true in a lock of times. But dwelling deeper. You have to be good enough to take on great teams. If your just a pure sucky team. Then it takes more than a few plays. Rave
so if said team makes that many game winning plays over a course of a season.....are they not far superior?I was agreeing with you. 3-5 plays a game comes out to 48-80 plays a year. **** straight thats significant. Rave
Not compared to how many snaps there are in a season. You are correct. The defense that played the least amount of snaps in 2012 was the Steelers and even they played 951 snaps. So, you could say that a team plays about 1800-2000 snaps in a year. So, I was wrong, 48-80 plays a year really isnt that much.
