g-dawg
I know this guy did not run the fastest 40 at the combine(4.61), but his playing speed is very fast and he looks fluid, agile and is a ballhawk. Ran a 4.51 at pro-day...he's an all-american and was for a reason.this guy is fast enough and at 6'2" he is Falcons version of Richard Sherman. think he would be a sneaky good pick at #1-30.per atljbo, Falcons have worked Jonathan Banks out. xFalconLord
You dont have to convince me.. Im a State homer..He is a great zone corner and we seem to run a lot of zone cover schemes. I like the fit and the pick. The only player I like more is Alec Ogletree but we wouldnt get him unless we traded up anyway.
LookAboutFalcon
He will be the best available corner when we select at 30. I'am sold on him but, I'am not sold on the fact we have to go corner with our 1st. He would solidify our secondary, that is for sure. The O.D.B
looks like the real deal to me. If Trufant's not there I'd be very happy with him or Poyer. Trufant does, in highlights, appear like he could cause more turnovers off tips. He's very good at getting the ball tipped up to other players but, the other 2 have size on him. Get me one of these 3 and the Honey Badger and I'm loving it.

Bill Brasky
NFL.com's Matt Smith projected Banks as our 1st round pick in his mock a few weeks ago. I believe Falcon Moore York laughed at the thought. It didn't give me hopes that it was a good pick.http://www.nfl.com/d...tt-smith/165603edit: http://boards.atlantafalcons.com/topic/3974200-alright-your-money-where-your-mouth-is-not-who-you-think-we-should-draft-but-who-will-we-actually-draft/page__st__20#entry7541035

Yep281986
Its a lot of teams that needs a CB. I still think we're going to have to trade up to get him.
Atlanta_Dawgs46
Bank is a really good zone corner. He has awesome ball skills. where he lacked in speed, he more than make it up in athleticism....remind you of someone?I have watched him played since his freshman year...Team are afraid to throw his way, the only way they throw on him is short corner route because State back their corner 7 yards from LOS

That nfl.com mock was really the only thing I've seen about him.edit: nevermind it's right above thisi think the main con on him seems to be his lack of top-end speed and that is a legit criticism because "industry norm" for NFL corner is about 4.48......Banks is probably legit 4.55 so he's a little slower but more than makes up for it w/ his ball skills and size, IMHO. youngbloodz
Banks is stiff in the hips. With that and lack of top end speed he struggles with turning and running. One way you help a corner out that struggles with turning and running is play zone. I wouldn't hate the pick
head hunter
Not a fan of Banks. Just plays too soft for me and average speed. Not completly sold on Trufant at30 either. I would take Taylor over both at 30. But my dream scenario would be Carradine at 30 and Alford at 60. We still haven't improved the DL. All we did was swap out Abe for Osi. Other than that its the same.
paulitik
He's worth a 1st rounder just for humiliating the Gators.

I don't understand why he is rank that high.

Francis York Morgan
Heh, yeah, I guess I've been outspoken on Banks.I don't like Banks much personally. He's not good in press, so the Sherman comparison above is pretty useless. I like him in run support, but imho, his ceiling is a marginally worse version of how Dunta Robinson looked with us. His CEILING, mind you. And at least DRob was fast. Banks' game worked in college because the receivers in college lack the speed the NFL brings - he won't succeed in anything other than strictly zone coverage with deep safety help, ideally a heavy zone Tampa 2 scheme. I would legitimately take several third round prospects before him, like Leon McFadden and Logan Ryan. Even a few 4th rounders like Tharold Simon and Terry Hawthorne. I just really don't like Banks' game. Sorry.A guy I wouldn't mind seeing us trade down to get - or even pick at 30, if we're that confident - is Jordan Poyer. I rank him second among all CBs, below Rhodes and just ahead of Milliner (hate on, haters) and he's slated to go in the 40s or 50s right now. He has insanely good reaction time and hip movement, anticipates the ball better than any other corner in the class. Incredible ballhawk, dunno how he's somewhat under the radar. Reminds me of Grimes, but bigger. He's not very fast either, so he shares that with Banks (4.5 speed so a bit faster), but he makes up for it with his agility and stickiness in coverage. Good fit for the big, 4.4-4.5 running receivers in this league. Obviously would have some trouble with guys like Julio and CJ, but who wouldn't?On top of that, he's a team captain, he's extremely intelligent, and he's a great personality. Would love to have him. Atlanta_Dawgs46
Poyer is a good prospect as well. However, going across the field and almost catching a fast athlete does not mean that he has good long speed, all it means is that he took a good angle.
