Scorpion
Unlike most here i understand that football is a business/career and that you should get as much money as possible while you can.All of these NFL teams will cut you in a heartbeat when you get older, no matter how good you were for the team or how badly YOU want to stay with the team (see Abraham/Urlacher/Ed Reed).Sad thing is most people that are scorning you for taking more money are the same people that would leave jobs in a heartbeat if someone offered them 10-20k more per year.Anyway now that i got out of the way i want to Thank You for all your hard work. No matter what these people say when healthy you were our best corner and most exciting corner to watch.I wish you the best of luck with the Dolphines (except when you play the Falcons).Sincerely a falcons fan with a brain. For the haters i am just gonna leave this here for you. You finally signed your franchise tender and made $10 million last year for play three quarters of one game for the entire season. Thanks for wasting that money and not coming back

maxatlanta
Thank you for giving this undersized and unheralded team a chance to develop and prove itself when no one else did. Oh wait, I think I mixed something up there. But seriously, thanks for the two and a half exceptional seasons. And specificaly for what you did to Breesus. Tandy Gossett
Thank You for going to Miami !!! We would rather have the extra 3rd round pick next season. Grimes showed his class by leaving Atlanta, self centered players have no place on this team. We need more players like Mud Duck that are willing to work without constantly asking for a raise. Someone who wants to stay on the same team, and retire a Falcon for life. Do you think Miami is going to give him a press conference at the end of his career? Do you think he's ever going to make a "Ring of Honor" now? Some things are more valuable than inflating money.

Dem Birds
Some of you are pathetic. Did I want Grimes back? Sure. Did I hope he'd take less to stay here? Sure. Do I fault him for taking 5.5 million tax free dollars over what we were able to offer him? No. You'd love to see loyalty out of guys, but even Abraham isn't going to take less than he thinks he's worth to play here, regardless of how much he loves the team and city, and he does. If he would, he'd be back already.Good luck to Grimes, bad taste in women and all. Hi, Miko!

maxatlanta
LOL at the 3rd round comp pick. Part of the equation is the size of the contract. Even if he makes the probowl it won't be a third.

kiwifalcon
I won't lie here OP I would have loved to seen a season with Grimes Assante Decoud and Moore manning that secondary.I'm sure that highlight footage would have grown 2 fold in doing so.But I do take Ryne15s point also I'm pretty sure TD offered him a multi year deal with us last year but he took the tag money instead now I don't begrudge the man for taking the money but I think it would have been a better option for him to have resigned last year and locked himself up financially for the next probably 4 odd years.Theres nothing like security in your future as a pro.Come this time next year he'll be shopping his wears again and if he doesn't play well this season he's pretty much done as a pro. Dem Birds
Abe more than did his part. I'm sure if we made an offer he'd be hereA reasonable one, sure, but Abe wont come back for significantly less than he can get elsewhere. Grimes' offer surely was significantly less than Miami's. me4falcons
You guys are talking this to personal. This is the business part of the season. We don't control who comes and go as long as they put a good product on the field.
