ProudFalcFan
Donovan McNabb and Shaun O'hara just picked the Falcons as the Best Team on paper as of Good Friday (over the other finalists who were the Texans, Broncos, Seahawks and 49'ers. Granted, games are NOT won on paper and there is a lot of work to do but for those of us who think the Falcons don't get enough media respect, it is, at the very least refreshing. It's also another vote of confidence for Thomas D and our personnel office!Sorry, i don't have a link but i suspect it should be up before long on NFL.com.Go Falcons! Russdogg
Alot of people think Jacksons old (29) or "Worn out", but what he does for this offense, will take us from 7th, to top 3. Top 5 at worst. Hes played for the Rams, THE RAMS, when everyone game planned for him, and still got his K. Hes going to be motivated so much knowing he can win, and go deep into the playoff. Now lets just beef up the lines!

didz
The thing is, this team is finally being noticed by players across the NFL as a place to come too. In 2008, we had to settle for guys like Turner, Hartsock, Peele, Moorehead, Coleman. While those players did their role and Turner broke out as a star for a year, it was never going to get us over the hump. Now, pro bowlers want to come to this team, not for money but for success. raysnill1
man we are effin' STACKEDif the coaches play Mike Johnson at RG, we'll have 4 former All-American O-linemen (Baker/Blalock/Konz/Johnson)the best TE to ever play the game & a former All-American as his backupa perennial Pro Bowl RB & a pretty good backup2 Pro Bowl WRsnow we gotta get some beef on the defensive line, a good CB to go with Asante & Bobby Mac & another pass rusher & we can be trouble!!! stoned_jc7
I don't mind us getting a little media love, it's long overdue. But with that comes more pressure to perform on the biggest of stages. The goal at flowery branch can be nothing short of Superbowl victory. Even the media can see it. We have no choice but to take the next step. If we put together another nice draft, the media hype machine could hit fever pitch.

Reading these boards gives you the impression that we'd be better rooting for the Chiefs.
xSICKxWITHxITx
We also have guys who are proven, so I wouldn't necessarily call us paper champs.
Falc_Fan_Since_Six
No matter how you slice it, defense is an issue. Getting Osi didn't upgrade much over Abe if you are only going to have one effective DE. As of now the starting corners would be Samuel and McClain with Franks as the nickel. Beyond that on the depth chart are a bunch of unrecognizable names. Sorry, the love is nice and all but the defense is scary....and I don't mean in a good way. FalconFanSince1970
Have they seen our LDE, LDT, MLB, RCB, nickel and dime backs? I don't think so.
Tribal Chief
Glad to see dome legit respect going on. Would like to see more respect here.the team gets all the respect in the world here but you have to open your eyes and be realistic when it comes to the defensive side of the ball. The defense is not championship worthy and you know it. No rush, haven't been able to tackle the last 2 seasons, coverage is still shotty at times. Nothing about the defense makes me want to crown the team as a whole a paper champion. Offense is legit though

Offense is legit thoughBS, people are literally trying to out duel one another on this board claiming to be "objective" when in reality they take it way to far and bash the team. Objective towards this team would mean acknowledging that we are one of the best teams in the nfl, we are the only NFC team to have a winning record the last 5 years and we have filled in some obvious gaps already and have 11 draft picks and cap room left. Sorry but being "realistic" about this team would mean you should think we are one of the top teams in the NFL because by every "realistic" standard we are. Jamesgall13
We don't have the best overall roster. 49ers do, if we get a few gems on defense then we'd be there.
