Cap Room For Every N F L Team

Recommended Posts

So roughly 3 million left for Abe

We have 6.2 left, if we can get Ryan resigned maybe we can back load it to free up some cap space. Roddy was wanting Abe, back so maybe he can take a pay cut to allow that to happen.

BTW ... How in the **** is Dallas in Cap **** that bad??? Who have they signed??? With that much cap ate up you'd think they'd actually be a good team but they suck.

I'm no cap guru, so why do we have 123 Mill and other teams have over 140?

There are two reasons for variations on the sheet.

The first reason is carry over from last year. That means cap space leftover from last year got added as additional cap space this year. The Falcons barely had any.

The second reason for the variations is the penalties that the league gave to the Redskins and Cowboys. Those penalties hurt the Redskins to the tune of 18 mil last year and 18 mil this year and about 5 mil each year for the Cowboys, and helped all the other teams by a couple mil, except the Saints and I think the Raiders, who got no bump.

The carryover from previous year is the amount of money the team didn't spend under that year's salary cap. That money can then be used for this year's salary cap. That is why teams have different numbers available to them.

Looking at these numbers, which will obviously become bigger after a Ryan restructure/new contract, we should have enough for a vet DB and DL if we decide to go that route. That being said, Abe and Grimes would be nice.

Abe most definitely ,but I really don't see grimes coming back. Of course I could be wrong, is wishful thinking but that is pretty much it

1. The 6.2 is pre-Osi since this list was released before he signed.

2. For those asking, the carryover is rollover dollars from the previous year. Whatever you don't use gets rolled over to next year.

3. We have more than 51 players under contract. It's just that, right now, only the top 51 salaries for each team count toward the cap. The teams with numbers lower than 51 are teams that have less than 51 players currently on their roster.

How much approximately do they need for the rookie contracts total?

That's really going to depend on how many of them make the team.

Right now, only the top 51 contracts count against the cap.

But com the first day of the regular season, it will be all 53 members of the roster and the practice squad that count against the cap.

Plus, I think TD still has work to do in free agency.

So I think he will be creating more space, but I suspect he will only do so when he needs it.

Yup. Like giving Ryan (and Roddy?) new contracts.

The 6.2 is pre Osi . He is going to count 4 mil against the cap roughly

http://www.spotrac.c...alcons/cap-hit/

Falcons could make one move like Jerry being cut bring in Seymour

Plus move some money around for draft picks but that's it people

Our off season done until draft

The Falcons may or may not do anything additional prior to the draft, but by the time the season arrives, I bet there are 3 or 4 veteran players on this team that aren't on the team right now.

Cap hits don't work the way you seem to be saying. Osi's cap hit will be in the $2-3 million range.

I think 3 mil is the minimum it can really be. If the reports that he is going to make 5 mil in year 1, just my quick math tells me it's not mathematically possible for him to count less than 3 mil this year.

My guess is a 4 mil signing bonus and a 1 mil salary.

3 mil cap hit.

Didn´t know the $5mm are guaranteed in year 1... if the 5 million are guaranteed over the full length of his contract though, his cap hit for 2013 could be as low as 1.5 - 2.0 million this year.
