Tribal Chief
Cut babs, bring back Abe, draft dt in the first round. Still rotate the young guys in. Let kroy and mass alternate in the hybrid. Run some 4 DE sets. I saw Matthews get some pressure from inside a few times last year. I think he can be a force at dt. Flame on
BleedBlack&Red
Lol at flame on. Why not cut Peria and schillinger bring back Abe still draft a DT in 1st (unless Carradine or Werner is at 30) and pick a SS up in the 5th or 6th?

Nolan seemed to like him--even used him at DE. I think mass and Matthews will see snaps. After signing Osi, I think maybe one more DE/OLB will be drafted. We can scrap mocks taking 3 DEs!We definitely need a true NT. I don't think Matthews is moving inside at all

He's one big strong sob
BleedBlack&Red
babs frees more moneyI kno he frees more but how much are you expecting Abe to get if we bring him back.
ssippifalcon
Babs is our only productive DT and you wanna cut him, id cut both jerry and peters before i cut babs. Im certain abe wont be back this time unless its at a vet minimum, which is not likely. Id cut jery and draft two DTs personally. I like where we are at DE, we need to bring pressure up the center to force QBs out of the pocket and right into our ends, thats where our pass rush problem is. Dharma Initiative
I don't get why no one thinks we should cut Kroy to bring back Abe. He makes $3 million a year
paulitik
Babs is on the last year of his deal. He's the perfect candidate for a cap saving extension. He's probably our most verstile DLman. He can be a DE or a DT. We need to keep him. We aren't as good a team without him.
ssippifalcon
I don't get why no one thinks we should cut Kroy to bring back Abe. He makes $3 million a yearkroy is a young capable starter, abe is 35. Kroy played a hybrid role, let him play a traditional DE role and he'll get 6-7 sacks easy, tired of seeing ppl sell this guy short because he does so many different things for this team. thanat0s
I don't know that we would have to cut Babs to make the space you're talking about. Once they get the Ryan deal done, his cap number will drop. If that happens sooner rather than later, they'll have plenty of cash.

Crazy. The kid is a pretty fair all around player with a great motor. Abe just isn't a starter, and given his interest level on the open market, NFL teams believe the same thing. The O.D.B
Move Babs to DE and take 2 DTs Hankins/Geathers + 2 CBs Banks/Webb in the draft, open competition between Schiller and Dent in camp. Problems solved.

Problems solved.I don't know about the individual names, other than Geathers, who I'm all for, but I am singularly focused on finding one good corner prospect that can potentially start out of the gate, and then get huge in the middle of the line. Give me two or three massive guys to plug the run lanes and push the center and I'll be a very happy guy on draft day(s).

Now if you can tell me which is best out of that group and relays to the NFL you've got your man.

And when he does rush the passer he brings pressure, the problem is our interior line creates no push and when the ends come around the quarterback simply steps into the pocket and gets way more time. He did play a traditional DE role and didn't do much. At this time I see him as a rotational player. Maybe he gets more productive under Nolan. I saw him produce 4 sacks in a hybrid role while not being on the quarterbacks blind side. I saw him put pressure on the QB all the time. A **** of alot more than what edwards did in his entire time here. Theres a reason he took the starting job from edwards and thats because hes better. Im willing to bet kroy will once again be starting next year.
