For all the hate and history it's amazing that us an App were able to work together on this. Both schools said they wouldn't move up without the other in play and together we make a pretty powerful bargaining chip. Glad we can continue the rivalry and eagerly look forward to our 2014 game against our newest rival Ga State.

Sucks that we'll apparently have to sit out the playoffs this year though, I'm graduating and it'll be my last as a student.

Edit:

Wow the fact that I'll never get to experience that championship feeling from the student section just hit me like a ton of rocks! Kinda depressed now. :(

Don't worry, once they move up, no one at either school is likely to ever get that feeling again. One day we'll be the old old dude who say's 'i remember when we won that last national championship 60 yrs ago.'

I'm torn on this right now. Hate giving up big fish status, tantalized by the possibility of the future. Time will tell. Hope we aren't following the path of Craig Kilborn.

I just don't think winning in FCS helps with exposure for the school and having a 7th championship doesn't really do anything for us. Even the worst of the worst bowls get broadcast more widely than the FCS championship.

Plus with GA State going FBS it would hurt our recruitment against them. Plus Kennesaw and Mercer are starting FCS teams in the next couple of years.

This is all about growing our footprint and it's the right step forward.

it was a move that was going to eventually happen. you can only be fcs for so long because you have guys who have money who want to be on the big stage even if you lose you are on the bigger stage in the fbs.
