Steven Jackson Is More Impressive Then I Thought.

ok bro who better to compare a powerback too u tell me??

Turner has never been the big intimidator back that jackson has been and still is....Jackson does not run east and west like turner has done trying to pick up one yard...you can't compare players to players..Jackson is his own comparison and turner is his own comparison..

Probably had nothing to do with him being fresher or Jackson wearing down the defense for him. Jackson also had a 8.4 yards per reception on 38 receptions and is solid all around in the passing game.

Richardson had 24 receptions in less than half the snaps and no he wasn't finishing games. Jackson finished the games, whether it was being on the field as the Rams highest paid skill player, trying to catch up, or killing the clock with his size and ball security.

So are you saying RB isnt a position of need? Do you realize we had the 29th ranked rushing offense last season? Thats BOTTOM 5 dude. To think RB is not a area of need is pretty silly. We need defensive help but why ignore other areas of need if we can get help at a decent price?

RB is a position of need, but one that can be filled through the draft easier than any other position on the field. Signing a 30 year old FA RB when we have bigger concerns on D makes absolutely no sense.

with steven jackson we can actually run the ball and keep our defense off the field. Instead of having to throw on 1st,2nd and 3rd downs

SJax is probably our best option at RB now

if anything we need to draft a DE, not a RB

I agree we need to draft a DE, I'd go D with the first 3 picks and pick up a RB in the 4th or later. I'm not completely adverse to getting Jackson BTW, he is one of my favorite RBs. He runs with authority and has great vision, not to mention what he can bring to the passing game. But at the same time he is going to be 30 years old by the time the season starts and has had over 400 more carries that Turner in his career. If we could get him for 1-2M per season I'd be estatic but I can't see him taking less than 5M and when we have so many needs on D I don't think it is a good idea to spend so much money on a RB. just my opinion though.

Does he play DE? DT? CB? or OLB? If not he is going to provide no help where we need it the most.

I won't dispute the fact that the defense is priority number one this offseason, especially considering what we've lost. However, we cannot go into the season without a true #1 RB. IMO, it hurt us last year at key times and caused us to be in way too many last minute nailbiters. If we don't make a move for a proven runner, whether it be Jackson or someone else, we'll become far too one dimensional and our defense will be exposed even more.
