hjerry
I was kinda hoping the post was going to be another one of those "if this happens, I won't be a fan anymore" deals. Those are hilarious.
Francis York Morgan
Two wrongs don't make a right. If Baker comes back for a cap-friendly deal and performs well like he did this year, I'm all for it.

jayrockthabarber
I don't care. Back problems are reoccurring and I wouldn't want to pay him big buck after ONE good season.yeah, lets get rid of our LT that just played the best season of his career
ProFalconFan
I would have to say we have to keep Baker. As much as I am not a fan of his there isn't much better out there. Hopefully, he will prove me wrong and play good in the first year of a new contract.
Pacific_Falcon
yeah, lets get rid of our LT that just played the best season of his career ...so you are willing to bank on him staying healthy and having a great season when he's done that once out of how many years? feel free to hitch your wagon to him all you want, assuming he will play at a high level and/or stay healthy is a recipe for disaster. Holmes better be ready.

jayrockthabarber
I'd sign Andre Smith 5yr/40 mil, move Clabo back to guard and start Holmes at LT.

Holmes better be ready.I'm not hitching my wagon to anything, my job isn't on the line and I'm not the one making the decision. I think it is somewhat misguided to want to let go of a gy that you have invested so much time and money in as soon as you start to see it pay off. If we don't sign Baker then who do we get? If we bring in someone new or insert someone from the lineup we get to deal with growing pains on the left side of the line all year, that sounds like fun. Lets invest 100+ million in our QB and get rid of the guy protecting his blindside all in the same offseason. Baker isn't an elite LT but when healthy he is pretty good. He isn't going to command Jake Long money and if he does I hope to god we have enough sense to walk away from the table and start looking at other options. Xyfiel
I am a fan of letting Baker walk but I don't know if that is the best decision. I won't be unhappy either way until time has passed and I can better judge the call.

citsalp
TD should be tarred and featheredApparently you missed my post in the Gay guy thread, well no biggie(but it's something you should read)Now for my side dishes, brussell sprouts and home made mashed potatoes. The Sprouts are easy, steam in water with a touch of salt and lot's of butter, pepper, touch of thyme. (approx 15) on low.Potatoes, likewise easy, peel, cut, boil water drop them in with a dash of salt, boil on high 20 minutes, let rest, mash them up add pepper, dash of salt, butter, splash of milk, sour cream, sharp cheddar cheese, bacon bits...UHMM Edited March 2, 2013 by citsalp
youngbloodz
Baker isn't that good. Ryan gets the ball out quick. Justin Smith said this after the Championship game. Said that was the reason they couldn't get sacks on him. I have no doubt Baker will be back. But TD made a tough decision on Abe. Well he need to make the same one on Baker. Let him walk

I like to add a bit of balsamic vinegar to my sprouts. It takes a bit of the strength out of the bitter taste. A light sauté with a little bacon and balsamic, it's slap yo' mama time! It's amazing how someone can value an aging DE over a LT that had a solid season protecting the franchise QB. I love this board sometimes.
