huge cut day down in ATL.

I didnt expect Abraham to be on that list. Where does the QB pressure come from now?

abe may be back

kinda doubt it tho

he dont fit our new 3-4 scheme

Falcons will probably resign Grimes now for sure

I am sure they have a plan in place

Get McClain back and he will take the 3rd spot if Grimes returns. So not worries about Dunta except he was a big hitter.

Turner was done. His burner is out of gas and he doesnt have solid hands. He doesn't fit in at all now.

Abe. Still are best and only pass rusher. We better not leave this up to the draft.

I'm good with all of the above. Abe and Turner were non-factors in the playoffs (Turner was productive against Seattle, but so was Jizz and it probably had more to do with how screwed up Seattle's defensive line was in that game than Turner) and would have been non-factors in the next postseason, too, and we can draft a cornerback in the fifth round, pay less than the vet minimum and get about what Dunta gave us last year.

ehhhhhhh

we go to the base 3-4

look for us to pick up the Raider guy or possibly a Kruger

we are in ok shape with Babs and Beer

both those guys will make solid 3-4 ends

the good news is we are now 21 mil under the cap

i figure 10 mil should cover Grimes , Moore and maybe even Bakers 2013 salary

Im sure they have a plan in place as well. The sound thinking is.

dunta = resign Grimes

Turner = resign Moore

Abe? Not sure what that equals. Maybe resign Tony G or Baker (crap)

Im not sold we can change to 3-4. We dont really have the LB`ers either. But its Nolan and who knows what he may think.

FA market is decent so once again we will probably look at value FA`s. Like at DE (hope we dont get another Edwards).

But the move scraps 3 older bodies. But 3 starters as well and Abe has been our best body since getting here. We haven't found a better FA or draft body that can match him. We need to get younger for sure. So its gonna be a interesting offseason.

yup, expecyed turner/dunta, not abraham though.

now we have no pass rush, maybe get Freeny?

freeney

osi

both 4-3 ends

like someone pointed out we need a LB or 2

and another big body at DT if Babs indeed does move to end

the 3-4 is a given, Smitty said as much a couple of weeks ago

we have a good player in Peters @ DT , but he is really not a NT

but we may still show 4 man fronts in Nickle and Dime

I am a 4-3 guy

Its best vs the Run imo

but in todays NFL, you are in Nickle so much, your base D is only in There on 1st down and short yardage ......

still I know Nolan likes the 3 man fronts

which leaves a Good Player off the field , a really good player imo in Peters

Interesting Abe was cut.

he may get a decent deal from a 4-3 team

he has something left

he has been the best DE in The South since Peppers Left

and his numbers were really better than peppers when he was with panthers lol

Abe is still an Elite Pass Rusher IMO

He's been a great pass rusher, no doubt, but that's about it. I'm not surprised that he got cut; he was making way too much money for his production. But now the Falcons really have no pass rush, and the move to a 3-4 muddles things a bit.

I'm pretty bummed about abe. i know the guy can't play forever, but he's meant alot to the team and fans. turner has too, but its obvious he has put no real effort in staying in nfl shape. his arrest last year tells me he doesn't truly care enough to help the team win, which takes alot more than grabbing the ball and running.

and before you open your pie hole enrave, abes incident was completely different.

also, Robinson was just to expensive for what he does. he really improved under nolan, hate to see him go too

we screwed him

he only made like 3 mil last yr

it was this yr he was gonna get 8 mil

he could have signed a 3 yr deal with multiple teams last yr

but come back to us for less

alot less

hey it sux

we all love Abe

but if ya wanna win in Todays NFL

better think with your Mind and not your heart when it comes to these kinda moves....

shytty shytty deal

nature of the beast man

These moves are like ripping off the bandAid. we are all very emotionally attached to abe specifically; and we can't discount what Turner meant to the rebuilding of this franchise. Dunta never gave us what we'd hoped from him, but he gave us a solid player at a position that allowed us to focus on other areas.

tough cuts, but they needed to be done. The NFLAM video in particular highlighted Abe's production; it even surprised me a little at how much of a beast he was/still is. I do hope we bring him back, and pair him with some real production elsewhere on the line, be it from the other DE or LB spot.

The good news is, we'll easily find replacements for Turner and Dunta at a fraction of their cost. I'm even fine with letting Grimes walk if he thinks he's going to get 10 Mil...too much for a position that we actually have salvageable talent on. Last year proved that we can live without him, although he's be great at 7.5-8M, which is honestly what he's worth.

Football players play, and 90% of the team is interchangeable. Keys: QB, Oline (I think these moves mean we resign Baker). A RB can be replaced with a RB; a pass rusher can be replaced with a pass rusher... of course some guys excel at their positions more than others, so they stick around more than other interchangeable parts. But for the most part... we're on our way to building a better team.

hummmmmm

coming off his injury

i would not offer him more than a 1 yr deal and at around 6 mil tops, not the 8 you are talking.

he got 10 mil last yr,

for nothing

time to reprove he is a shut down corner

no team in the NFL in their right mind is gonna offer him more than probably 5 mil for 2013 ....

M Turner

J abraham

D Robinson

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see the BUCS make a play for BOTH Robinson & Abraham. Perhaps rent 'em for a season, as it's pretty clear Dominick needs to get us to the playoffs this season to stay off the hot seat. I'm not to crazy about signing either of them considering their age, but I could see it happening. Lord knows we're gonna need some help on the line and secondary..
