Assassin's Creed 4 Details Leaked

Recommended Posts

October 29th release date leaked with next gen versions mentioned. 360, PS3, Wii U, and PC are the only platforms confirmed at this point but a PS4 version is expected to be announced at the AC4 announcement on Monday. New Xbox version likely announced when the new Xbox is.

I would only expect the next gen versions to have better and more stable framerate, though. This won't be a title that takes advantage of the new hardware.

It's all official now.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag will release on October 29th for PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii U. It will be a launch title for Playstation 4. Sony is getting some exclusive content.

This game will feature protagonist Edward Kenway, grandfather of AC3 protagonist Connor. The game is set in the Caribbean in the early 1700's, revolving heavily around pirates and sea travel. Edward is said to be more of that Ezio type character. Ubisoft stated that they have taken the best parts of previous games to try and create a "best of" type game that appeals to what fans love most about the franchise. AC4 will feature a large open world with 50+ locations and three major cities - Havana, Kingston, and Nassau - which offer a wide assortment of cityscapes and activities.

Ubisoft says the next gen versions of AC4 will have better graphics, better physics, and "connected" features. PS4 will be getting exclusive features and content.

Think I will opt to pick this one up for PS4. Hopefully I'm quick enough to get in the preorder queue.
