and these guys are running them as a result of training. They're not that fast on film

Dude I know u watch alot of college football, but to say that none of those CB's is crazy dude, dont act like you know it all. During the Senior Bowl you could see Trufants game speed on the 1st play of the game.

Like I have said all along - Desmond Trufant is the best case scenario for Falcons at #1-30. His 40 time just confirms what you see on tape - a quick-twitch guy with great playmaking skills. What Mayock wanted to see out of Trufant was his "long speed" - well now we know - Trufant has the long speed.

I doubt Trufant sneaks past the Broncos who are looking for the replacement to Champ Bailey - who is in serious decline right now.

if Trufant makes it to Falcons, I hope Dimitroff pulls the trigger - this guy has the talent, the ball skills, the playmaking, the character, the competitiveness - he is total package.

Trufant is having a good Combine so far and didn't he have the most reps on the bench press of all CB's

what you are looking at from the combine is to validate (or not) the college tape. Trufant's performance at the combine validates his college tape as a playmaker with speed and ball skills.

if he makes it to #30 - TAKE HIM!!!!!!

I knew you would find a way to sneak in this thread. The only problem i see with Trufant is the fact that it really depends on what we do in FA. If we resign Grimes then we wont be taking Trufant. If we dont resign Grimes and Trufant is gone then we are stuck with Robinson contract and the cap space it consumes. It is a sticky situation and really depends on what we do before the draft. I would like to have him as an immediate starter, but we would have to resign Moore at Safety

I wouldn't pay attention to these 40s, the vast majority of these guys are not that fast on fil,

The 40's matter the most at two positions, the most important is at CB, and the second most important is WR. The rest of the positions it matters more about the 10 yard split and lateral mobility.

of course I'm in this thread - validates my mock smile.png

cap space is severely eaten up by Dunta - and if we re-sign Grimes, he will eat tremendous cap space as well. We have Asante, we have McClain - we can re-sign Owens cheap. We need a young playmaker that does not eat cap space.

Enter Desmond Trufant. He can be a #2 or a #3(nickel) right out of the gate - best pick Falcons could make in my opinion and the best pick that would open up the most money to fix the defensive line.
