matty72780
Let me start by saying that I love Turner and appreciate all he's meant to this franchise but to compare him to Steven Jackson is insane. The fact is Turner's sluggish, he runs straight and goes down on first contact a great deal, he's not elusive, he isn’t explosive, I haven’t seen him bounce a run to the outside for a gain in 3 years, he isn’t a receiving threat and that’s why we're cutting him.Steven Jackson is a TOTALLY different RB and age has nothing to do with it. S-Jax is 29, Turner will be 31 - who cares (Gonzo is 36 and a top 3 TE, age means nothing if you take care of yourself and still produce). Steven Jackson isn’t the long-term answer by any means but he has 2-3 years left in him of great football. For anyone that watches the game of football you should know that Steven Jackson runs with attitude, he has the ability to make something happen on his own (he's been on the porous Rams for Christ sake), his ability to catch the ball out of the backfields amazing, he runs extremely hard, and he would out run Turner wearing a pair of flip flops. Jackson split carries with Darryl Richardson last year and still had 1200 yards rushing, 300+ yards receiving. For those who say he's injury prone, uhhh, ya'll realize he's missed a total of 2 games in the last 4 years right? He's averaged 1250+ rushing yards, 350+ receiving yards, only had less than 4 YPC once in his career (3.8), and done this all on his own with no help from his passing game or O-Line (its the Rams people). You put him on the Falcons offense he could come close to 2000 total yards in my opinion.Jackson isn’t gonna be a franchise player, or someone we mortgage a future on but NOBODY in the draft and no other free agent would have the immediate impact and production of Steven Jackson - PERIOD! Bring em home TD! 2-3 year deal heavily incentive based would be a dream come true to have S-Jax! Plus he's a great locker room guy too! Taydumz
How many tds did he have? I mean the yards are cool but turner got 10 i believe so if he cant score then i might as well keep turner.
Sun Tzu 7
If we bring him and and Tony retires I just see him getting hit in the backfield.Granted I agree he's an upgrade over Turner but I still think we need a more explosive guy that creates mismatches out of the backfield.Again that's if Tony retires. If Tony stays then I think Jackson would work nicely.
Mega Flare
The real question is how hard does S-Jax hit the hole today? If he can keep drives alive, he could help, but his wear and health are big question marks.
Guest Gritz
I want to go young at RB....plus I don't think Jackson has a ton left in the tank any more.If I'm the Falcons I pass.

SJax played for the Rams!!!!! How many TDs did their team have a whole? The Rams are terrible! All Turners TDs came from inside the 5 yard line basically. If you think Turner over Jackson you clearly are delusional.
Butudontseeme™
Jackson has about 1000 more career touches than Turner. He'sYeah. Steven jacksons positive contributions to a football team are limited to only the next year or so. Would have loved to have him 4-5 years ago though. If you don't think SJax would help this team a great deal and would out produce any rookie or FA then you don't understand the game of football. We can't afford to use our first rounder on a RB anyway, our D is hideous!

Psychic Gibbon
Only a foolish team would take a 30 year old RB out of free agency to take the bulk of their carries.

Tony G is 36, AP is 1 year younger than S Jax, Peyton Manning is 36, Tom Brady is 35, Asante is 32, ronde barber Is 37, Reggie Wayne is 34, frank gore is 29, etc.....age is a number, if you take care of yourself and still produce age means nothing now does it? You're clammoring for a guy that barely produced more than our own guy last year.
