2013 Prospects We Are Looking At (Falcons Related)

341 posts in this topic

Is this really it? We don't know anyone else that the Falcons interviewed at the Combine? I remember in years past that this thread would be several pages long...

not much talk of any teams with combine interviews yet....reports will come out by the end of March/early April. gotta wait for some pro days and other crap.

Here's the most up-to-date list from WalterFootball:

Anthony Amos, WR, Middle Tennessee State (East-West Shrine meeting)

Seth Doege, QB, Texas Tech (East-West Shrine meeting)

Josh Evans, S, Florida (East-West Shrine meeting)

Montel Harris, RB, Temple (East-West Shrine meeting)

D.C. Jefferson, TE, Rutgers (East-West Shrine meeting)

Rod Sweeting, CB, Georgia Tech (East-West Shrine meeting)

Duke Williams, S, Nevada (East-West Shrine meeting)

Terrance Williams, WR, Baylor (Senior Bowl meeting)

Of course, he doesn't have Jonathan Hankins or Keith Pough listed, so take this with a grain of salt.

It looks like we are definitely exploring wide receiver and safety depth. Or possibly trying to find a safety to replace Moore if he goes elsewhere? Josh Evans looked pretty good at the E-W Shrine Game and Duke Williams played well in the Senior Bowl.

Montel Harris is pretty much a bigger Jacquizz Rodgers. Torrent some of his film if you want to see him run, it's pretty fun to watch...or just watch some on YT. Don't think we take him, given we have Quizz, but he'll be fun to watch if a team gives him carries.

Why was he kicked out of BC after setting freshman records there? I don't remember what the violation was.

This is a side note on Jarvis Jones... If he is there at the end of the 1st round because i see some docs dont like his medical exam notes... I feel like we would be crazy not to take him... Even if we trade back some (pick up a pick) and take him early in the 2nd

Jones will be gone by the 15th pick. JMO. He is one of the top 5 players at his position in this draft. Another JMO.

I believe it was too many failed drug tests thanks to weed.

"Repeated violation of team rules," no one has the specifics tbh. He actually stayed with them for a few years before being kicked off.

Here are other Pro Days we attended (while it's unclear who we were specifically looking at, we can speculate based on the theme that seems to be apparent):

Southern Mississippi (presumably for Jamie Collins, LB):

Jackson State (Joseph LeBeau, LB and Rico Richardson, WR stood out):

Man, almost half the guys we've been known to be looking at are projected to go undrafted.

A majority of the pro days so far have been small school or, sadly enough, small school players outshining the players at the bigger schools they're attending the pro day with. Also, those are just the ones I was able to figure out and I'm sure they've been to some of the more notable ones.

edit: Just found out they were at Washington's pro day, so I'll add Trufant to the list.

They were at West Virginia's pro day. Smitty himself went to Georgia Tech's pro day, so take that as you will.

Probably more about Stedman Bailey as a 3rd round slot prospect than using our first on Tavon just knowing our coaching staff and scouting department. We used a 3rd on HD way back when.

They were at Oregon's and Syracuse's pro days. They were also apparently at Georgia State's and Arkansas State's pro days, but I can't think of any notable prospects from either.
