jbrinson 216
I like Hankins. He's a big body and can play in any scheme. His stock has been falling lately but I'll take him.
falcon90 362
At least we in the right ballpark as far as a big DT. Not the biggest fans of Hankins though.
atljbo 21,365
I really like johnathan hankins... where we are... The only way a earlier 1st round talent fall to us is if he has a injury concern or a hot and cold motor concern... 'Some question Hanks motor but i just know.. From the games i saw... When he is on.... Dude is on... I feel like its your D-Line coach to make sure you get the most out of a guy or not to over use a guy (he gets tired) ...You have to also think about what he could become with good coaching. Its a couple of 1st/2nd round possible DT's i like
atljbo 21,365
This is a side note on Jarvis Jones... If he is there at the end of the 1st round because i see some docs dont like his medical exam notes... I feel like we would be crazy not to take him... Even if we trade back some (pick up a pick) and take him early in the 2nd
Kayoh 5,049
Nobody questions Hankins' motor. That's one of his positives compared to guys like Jenkins, J.Williams, Lotulelei, Short, etc, is that he's got a nonstop motor and never gives up on plays.
The Dirty Bird 549
Nobody questions Hankins' motor. That's one of his positives compared to guys like Jenkins, J.Williams, Lotulelei, Short, etc, is that he's got a nonstop motor and never gives up on plays.Quite the opposite Kayoh. He had a great sophomore year and then displayed questionable effort his junior year before declaring for the draft. Maybe he was trying to avoid injury like some UNC players from the last few years, but that is definitely his knock.Half the reports talk about playing hard with an active motor, and the other half raise a concern over his questionable effort. I'm confused as to why this is, but perhaps the former were from after his sophomore year.He was originally pegged as a Top 5 pick, Top 10 at worst...so to get him at #30 if he's falling would be great. It's a huge need for us, and I trust our coaches to get the best out of him.
Sheldon Cooper 623
I would like Hankins at 30 very much. Heck of a run stopper.
Rai 674
I'd love to take him at #30. We need someone to light a fire under him though and get him playing hard every down. He doesn't strike me as someone who will disappear after he's signed his contract so I'm just assuming there were other issues he wasn't happy with this year like the coaches or the whole scandal maybe, I'm not sure. That's for the FO to find out.

But I dont think its to much his motor.. I think the guy was just tired.... Like ive heard someone say... Its not realistic to think a 320+lb guy is going to give a 100% while playing alot of snaps... But that was my point of my post./.. I dont think its his motor... I heard he was injured some and the guy is HUGE.... Ofcourse he will get tired if he plays alot of snapsIf your big DT gives you more then 50% - 60% of your snaps during the regular season... And his play is good.... Thats a good win.... You cant over play the big fellas
head hunter 73
The DT I like at 30 is Sly Williams. Mayock said he has 1st rd talent. I also can see us taking Carradine at 30 too. But I have had Pough and Hodges as the LBers in my mocks.
hjerry 26,118
Heck yes, I've been mocking Pough since back when he was still an unknown, projected to go in the 7th. He's a monster run stopper and the FCS record holder for TFL. He's a real loud mouth too and would be great paired with Spoon. He tore it up at the East West Shrine game. He's also a high character guy, exactly like TD looks for. He's a real sleeper, imo, and has serious starting potential. With his stock rising as it has been, if he has a good combine, we might end up having to take him with our 3rd if we want him.
The Dirty Bird 549
I can also really see us taking Carradine at 30 if we believe we can get Sylvester Williams or Kawaan Short with our 2nd rounder. Carradine would have been a Top 20 pick if he didn't get hurt, and he's going to be 100% for this upcoming season or at least that's what he says. Big, fast, strong, with a ton of upside. Can't reasonably mock him to us at anything later than a 2nd rounder, and even that is probably not going to be realistic. After the top wave of DE/OLBs like Jones, Jordan, Ansah and at some point Mingo (leaving Werner off because by all accounts Carradine is a more impressive prospect than Werner) then Carradine is your guy. Some may have Carradine as the #3 rusher after Jones and Jordan and ahead of Ansah, and perhaps the #1 4-3 DE if that is true -- if not, then the #2 4-3 DE.From a draft perspective, if he's there at 30 and the top DTs, TE Eifert, and Xavier Rhodes are not available....he could easily be the choice and BPA. Francis York Morgan 25,144
Pough is a great sleeper. Would love for us to take him. Hankins...I don't like him for his motor, but then again, none of our guys have really had questionable motors. Speaks a lot about our coaching staff. They might be able to coach him up. Or maybe it's like Kayoh said and he's just unconditioned.

DE Cornelius Carradine, FSUWhere he wins: Explosive off the snap and follows it up with strong hand use to keep separation or disengage. Plays with leverage to drive opposition back if need be or keep his position to set the edge as a run defender.13.
