Hey man, I'm a long time vet of the IMD. Usually it gets far more hectic that it just did. I had a ton of different offers up that I could copy and paste to max out my cap. Really was considering going with Loadholt and Jared Cook, but I need a great pass protector at RT and that's why I upped for Vollmer instead of Loadholt. This draft is stacked with TEs anyway.

Don't think it should matter because I still offered the highest total salary and highest guarantee, plus immediate starting job and he gets to take it to the Pats 2x a year...but this would have made it even more money between the two offers.

Noticed Loadholt's offer was also withdrawn, which should have been covered with: "and any other players that may have outstanding offers from the Jets", but just to be specific.

The 3 guys the Jets went all-in on were: Flacco, Vollmer, and Avril.

Assuming players are awarded they are each year, my O-Line is now very strong with bookend OTs of D'Brick and Vollmer to protect Flacco, with Donald Thomas and Brandon Moore as my OGs, and Nick Mangold at center.

Got Avril at 3-4 OLB last year, and I truly think he would be a star in the NFL at the position under Rex Ryan. Rex Ryan made Suggs the force he is after moving from DE at ASU to his OLB in Baltimore. Avril has near identical athleticism and explosiveness to Suggs (check their measurables and size, etc.) and I think he can make the transition back to LB quite easily because he played it in HS and at Purdue. Without any pass rushing presence, we desperately needed Avril. Worth every penny.
