st. diehard
Despite the naysayers, Loomis will probably have the Saints outspend the rest of the division in free agency this year.

SaintRay
The Saints will solve the issue by making a few big moves as they change from a 4-3 to a 3-4 defense.I could see the following cuts:Will Smith $14.54J. Vilma $8.68Hawthorne $4.76Chamberlain $1.45On the fence moves could be:Lofton $7.10R. Harper $7.10Greer $5.42Restructures could be:Brees $17.40Evans $9.86Colston $6.60Moore $4.56Loomis will find the money to get several critical players that he feels will fit the newer 3-4. Shredman
Saints and Panthers in Troublewe are in a bit better shape than I Thoughtafter Turner is Cut will put us at about 11 mil underwe will also need DRob and Clabo to restuctureof Our FAonly 2 that are a must sign are W Moore and S Bakeralot of ppl say our biggest FA need is DEbut its not, we will be going to a 3-4 base, in that base Package , Babs and Beer are more than Solid ends. bring abe in in the Nickle and we are Fine...what we do need is a LB or

st. diehard
amazed that lofton is even a consideration. At this point, every player needs to be evaluated for the scheme. I think he and Grubbs were good signings from last year. I see them looking elsewhere to balance.Smith is gone simply because he's a 4-3 DE and on the downside. Doesn't help that his cap savings would almost half the overspending with just one move.

cnasty
Babs and Beer are more than Solid ends. Babs? Yes. Biermann? I don't know if I can agree with that. A good defensive in in a 3-4 usually plays around 280+. Biermann is a measly 250-260ish, last I checked. He'd get thrown around on running plays and wouldn't even command a double team, ever. So on passing plays, that leaves the guard open for picking up LBs. Not a great matchup.
Serge
I'm not buying a 3-4 switch unless we're able to do some major front seven renovation. We have a few DT's that might be able to play DE in a 3-4 but we'd need three starter-caliber linebackers, at least one of whom being a major pass rusher. falconsd56
We also have a couple easy cuts to make to free up a good chunk of change.Cutting Turner and Drob frees up between 10 and 13 million between the 2.With guys like Blalock, Clabo and Roddy all restucter/extenstion possibilities aswell. My hope is we roll into FA with 20ish mill in FA
