if a Bull dog fans say he wouldnt trade up...... then dont trade up..... G-dawg is there something you dont like about him

I just think he's overrated. Don't think he is paticularly good against the run either. Everybody loves that tackle where Ogletree spins the Georgia Tech ballcarrier around and slams him to the turf - but does not impress me. I think Ogletree is just overhyped and not as good as he is made out to be on these boards.

The following quotes are from NFL scouts, coaches

and front-office personnel, speaking on the

condition of anonymity.

“Everyone has been talking about (BYU DE) Ziggy

Ansah and throwing around comparisons. If a guy

has length, some twitch and a motor, people think

it’s Jason Pierre-Paul. He ain’t. Otherwise, they

wouldn’t align him inside so much. He’s a one-year

wonder and a tweener. ... Put on the bowl game. He

was getting pushed down the field and a ball was

thrown at his chest and he intercepts it. He fell into

it — he didn’t create it. That’s how he produced this

year.”

(Utah NT) Star Lotulelei has a 30-plus (inch)

vertical at 320 pounds. He’s athletic and can run. He

can rush the passer. I think he will get better with

coaching at our level. They line him up as more of a

nose, but he is athletic enough to be a three-

technique. As strong as he is working half a man, he

is going to create pressure.”

(Georgia OLB) Alec Ogletree moves like a DB

playing linebacker. He’s fast, quick and athletic —

he moves like a gazelle. He has run into some

trouble off the field and is going to need things kept

simple, but I would like to have him.

“I do like (Mississippi State CB Johnthan) Banks.

He

reminds me of the type of corners they have

playing in Seattle. He’s a lot like Richard Sherman.

He can play off or on and is not bad off, but that’s

not his deal. He is a press cover guy. Everyone

wants a big man corner. He does not get too out of

whack shadowing in the four games I watched. For a

long guy, he can come out of breaks.”

“(Notre Dame LB) Manti Te’o is a very religious,

religious, religious kid. I haven’t gotten a vibe for

from him. When this came out and the way

it came out — it wreaks of someone trying to see

him fall. I will tell you this — Baltimore is losing

their leader (Ray Lewis). They always seem to land

the guy with ‘issues’ and then they go on to play in

Pro Bowls the next 10 years. It could fall into their

hands again.”

“(South Carolina S) D.J. Swearinger will drop

down in the box and hit you. He looks to take your

head off. I love his intensity and approach. Every

secondary needs a lightning rod like him. When you

think of a lot of the great ones — the Ed Reeds and

Brian Dawkins — they had that spark. ... He’ll miss

some tackles that he should make, but he’s a big-

time hitter.”

You guys are crazy. I'm not even a Georgia fan, and I would love to have Ogletree. I think he would be a fantastic fit for the Falcons, though I don't believe we should trade up to get him. If somehow he makes it to us we need to snag him. If we're talking about overrated, it'd have to be Jarvis Jones. Ogletree is a breast

C'mon Dawg thats a poor example how bout the tackle where he stuffs Lacey in the hole on the 1 yard line against Bama that has to be one of thee best one on one tackles of the year by a LBer.

Mano E Mano and the help caused the fumble aswell.

I no you like your man Brown but for me Ogletree has the tools to cover a RB's and fast TE's which we just don't have on our team at the moment.

He has the versatility to play all the LBing positions and playmaking ability unparalelled by other LBers going in the draft.

If he sniffs into the early to mid 20s I gotta think TD will have a serious look.

As a UGA fan whose been to pretty much every home game for the past few years... I completely agree 100%. Ogletree is a good linebacker. But that's where it ends. There are holes in his game and there's nothing particularly spectacular about him.

When you have as many needs as we do, draft picks are way too valuable to trade away.

One of the reaossn we have so many holes right now, is that we traded a truck load of picks away in 2011, This left us unable to find long terms replacement for Gonzo and Abraham, or to address our OL and DL issues. We need to stay put, or trade down.

I wouldn't trade up for him. I dont want to trade up for anyone, but if he was still on the board I would take him. He could play the middle for us in the 3-4 or 4-3. He has the quickness to cover TE's and RB's and is a sideline to sideline defender. He would add to our D without doubt.

I think the bigger need is upfront though. We need DT or more specific a NT. If we strengthen the middle of our line everyone else will improve.
