Link on McClain? If so, that may literally be the most quiet re-signing this team has ever made.

not sure -- but McClain was originally signed Jan12 to a futures contract --- when he made the 53 in sep12 a new contract (standard) was signed same for all futures players that make the 53.

But the 1 unofficial list of FAs I've seen does have him a RFA

Then again I may be full of ****

What is a "futures contract"?

again not sure -- but in general -- All new players (non drafted) are initially signed to something called a futures contract. I Think if they make the team they sign a standard contract. All PS players are on futures contracts (re-signed) during the regular season

Off course FAs and draftees are signed to a standard contract.

some early unattached FAx like McClain might start out on futures contracts like the UDFAs

We have some updated contract information on tight end Chase Coffman, wide receivers Drew Davis and Tim Toone and cornerbacks Dominique Franks and Robert McClain.

All are signed for 2013 and will not be free agents.

Coffman was signed to a two-year contract and Toone to a three-year contract on Nov. 13. Davis and Franks signed two year deals in September.

McClain signed a two-year deal in January is set to make $555,000 in 2013.

Who?

Sounds like we have another 4th/5th string cornerback and Franks will be cut again. HD was the punt returner at the end of the season and playoffs. Franks had 0 value to be on the team except to keep the bench warm.

It may be too early to tell but it seems like Grimes is gone and Dunta will have a reconstructed contract again.
