Best thing I saw today: Gattis got buzzed by a Kimbrel heater and then hit the curveball that followed to right field.

Great to hear. In order to hit the ball to RF you have to stay in on the plate and let the ball travel. That means Gattis didn't get scared when Kimbrel buzzed him inside.

Heyward's numbers from June through August were off the charts.

334 PA, 303 AB, 53 R, 89 H, 17 2B, 2 3B, 18 HR, 46 RBI, 29 BB, 83 SO.

If I did my math right that's a slash line of .294/.353/.541 with an OPS of .894.

Yeah I saw that. There's no way the Braves do that. Teherean has pitched almost 2 full seasons at Gwinnett. It's time for him to do it in Atlanta.

Really wanted to get a jersey for once for opening day. Sports Authority had a Freeman on sale for $70 and I had a $10 off coupon so I'll be rocking it. Although I really wanted an away Chipper jersey, but that seems hard/expensive to find

Cool. Why do people by gray road jerseys? If I were going to spend the money on a jersey it wouldn't be a typical gray road jersey. It would be the blue one if I were going that route. But I'd much rather have the white home jersey or cream color jersey.

I work out of town a lot so I'd like wearing the gray at the few away games I could hit to match the team. I got a white, but my fear with it is that it'll get stained from beer/hot dog stains

Didn't think about the stains thing.

DOB tweets that Gattis has officially won the backup catcher job over Pagnozzi.

Yep. I didn't really think Gattis had much of a chance at making the opening day roster as much as I wanted it to happen but I'm quite thrilled it did. Now just waiting word on what number he'll wear because it won't be 68.

I could be wrong, but I have a bad feeling about Venter's elbow. I think it is going to be something that is either worse than a sprained elbow or something that is going to make him ineffective all season.

Really sucks.
