Str8 Bonafide777
So we as Falcons fan every year sit back when free agency hit and we hear about all the players coming in and leaving. We wait and wait and wait just ready to see on the ESPN or NFLN ticker that the Atlanta Falcons have signed big FA........but it never happens. With how close we are to actually becoming an elite team do you actually see us aggresively pursuing some FA that can put us over the hump. We do good at trading for people...Asante and Gonzo...but do you see us actually signing an impact FA? or are we gonna sit back like in years past and just wait...for nothing? Adam25
One thing we will probably do is sign a TE in free agency, if you seen on twitter Marcellus Bennet basically all but straight said he would love to be a falcons lol, he is solid in run block and can run fast a deep routes. Should come a bit cheap as well. TD is mostly a draft and develop type guy, will probably have a good draft.
Pringle
Go back and think about these supposed Big Name Free Agents that everyone wanted in past seasons. Sure it was thrilling for the teams that landed them at the time but how often did it become a waste of money for the team that landed that player??Think Washington Redskins, think Eagles from 2 years ago. How did that turn out for them? Now think about the teams that rarely go after these big name agents but are contenders every year. Don't expect big name free agents and be happy for it!! 4dabirds
Impact players require cap space. We are bargain shoppers.Really? Were we bargain shopping when we got Dunta? Most would say we overpaid, but he was the best corner on the market at the time. We are not bargain shoppers, we go after people for our needs, sometimes you can't get the best available, but in our case it is never about money. It's more about fitting our scheme and not giving 100 million dollars to a position player (Aso, Haynesworth, Mario Williams etc...) that is not a QB. Eye of the Falcon
Said it before but will repeat again --- don't think we need to use a 1 through 4 round pick on a TE. Use Coffman and Palmer plus slot reciever if Tony leaves next year, and draft a stud in 2014. There are some excellent TE prospects available in that draft.
