2013 Atlanta Falcons offseason plan

SS William Moore 4 year deal

CB Robert McClain 3 year deal

CB Chris Owens 2 year deal

SS Chris hope 1 year deal

DT Vance Walker 3 year deal

OT Sam baker 3 year deal

QB Luke McCown 1 year deal

TE Michael Palmer 3 year deal

Rb Antone Smith 1 year deal

*Keep core players together and some key reserves. I let grimes walk I think we move forward with asante/dunta and mcclain as our top 3 corners for now and 2014 draft address a shutdown corner.

DT Peria Jerry

RB Michael Turner

*These two don’t produce and would save us around5-6 millions on next years cap.

Restructured Contracts:

CB Dunta Robinson

OT Tyson Clabo

WR Roddy white

*transfer base salary into bonuses to keep salary money the same but not count against the cap. Free up hopefully 6-8 million.

$$$ With the move to a 3-4 in mind I think we draft/free agency focus on our front 7 rb and te.

Free agents:

*With anywhere from 10-12 million saved on cuts and restructures I feel that will be free agency money. The 7 we have before this I think we work out our own free agents.

I think if they were going to switch to a 3-4 some different moves would need to be made. I like signing Branch as the NT but I'd also target at NT in the middle rounds. I'd use the first two picks on ILB and DE and get Manti Te'o in the 1st and Datone Jones DE out of UCLA in the 2nd. I honestly think a very good TE could be had later on like in the 5th. I think Philip Lutzenkirchen TE out of Auburn could be an absolute steal.

I hated the idea of the 3-4 at first but at this point we have been running the 4-3 for 5 years and I see little improvement from our D. I know losing Grimes hurt a lot of what we were trying to doing to do but we still can't get to the Qb so at this point Im open to any fixes.

I just think if we do go to a 3-4 we should grab a DE/OLB in the 1st and a NT in the 2nd.
