vdove0926
I'm sure this has been talked about a good bit but I'm of the belief that we are a big NT type guy away from being a good run stopping D. Our D is very athletic and fast and when teams run sideline to sideline on us IMO thats playing in our favor. We plug the middle and force teams into our strength.I know people want more pass rush but Nolan's forte is when teams are in 3rd and long and confusing the QB. We plug the middle vs the Niners and I don't believe that game gets close like it did. I believe John Jenkins is our guy. Eat up the middle of the field and let Nolan go to work on 3rd downs. Francis York Morgan
We can't afford to trade up to get him and he won't fall to our pick. DT is too loaded, we can get a good one in the 3rd or even 4th round.
Psychic Gibbon
I don't like him for no other reason than that he has terrible endurance. If we draft him then we'd have to pick up someone else to play NT because Jenkins would have to be rotated a lot.
ssippifalcon
We deffinately need a DT but i dont think trading up for jenkins is the smart move here.
falcon90
I like Sylvester out of UNC better. Jenkins gets tired QUICK.
Carter
Falcons need someone smaller and quicker than John Jenkins... and I say this as someone who watched every down he played for Georgia. Jenkins is deceptively athletic for his size, but his endurance has not followed his development as a true 3-4 NT. This could change/improve once he gets into a full NFL strength and conditioning program, but I don't think he's a good fit for the Falcons regardless. root down
someone that big sure didn't dominate enough or for long enough periods of time(endurance). Sry, Bulldog colored glasses on this one. no thanks
vdove0926
Jenkins is strictly a two down player to me. So I guess it wouldn't make sense to draft a guy for 2 downs in rd 1 unless he is a certain run stopping space eater that can hold the point every play. But I didn't think he was expected to go that high because he IMO will only be a 2 down player for a while. Power I
The way we rotate linemen and want a hybrid defense, I'd take him. He won't be asked to play every down, but he's the type of lineman we don't have.
Carter
Of the UGA d linemen in this draft, I like Abry Jones the most for the Falcons. He'll be there in a mid range round and he fits nicely at DT for us. He plays both the run and pass well. Very under the radar.
