Peyton
Probably a good move, since the biggest criticism of the Falcons is that they weren't strong enough. Jeff Fish was replaced with his assistant, A.J. Niebel, who has been his assistant the last two years.I don't know about the wisdom of that, but whatever. Somebody had to fall on the sword, I guess Fish was it.
rounz
I thought Fish was supposed to be good--or was that the one we had before?
leowolf
A source told FOXSports.com that Jeff Fish will not be retained as the director of athletic performance for the Atlanta Falcons. The decision was made because of "philosophical differences," the source said.
g-dawg
its not the strength coach per se......we need to draft stronger players in the first place! Dimi cannot be fired though - nor should he - but Dimi needs to draft bigger/stronger players on the lines.
clownorg
sounds like a smart move, I mean has the Team played a full 60 minutes all year??the woes could be a conditioning issue
DixieTwister
Don't get any pleasure out of seeing someone lose their job but didn't Arthur say there would be sacrificial lambs? I guess they look at it as they got to start somewhere to show fans and players that no one is safe!
Da Bird is Da Word
I don't pretend to know exactly what a strength coach is or who that guy was, but if this move helps our tackling then I'm all for it. Our playoff failures this year seem to have more to do with execution than game planning so some solid improvement in the fundamentals ought to help. Knight of God
Yeah because its all his fault.
bossFALCON™
I don't like it. Our team has a low number of injuries year in, year out and I always figured Fish had a lot to do with it. The players always respected him and spoke highly of him, but what do you do.
Da Bird is Da Word
Yeah because its all his fault.Eh, I don't think anyone's gonna look back and say "yeah we lost the NFCCG because of our d amn strength coach". I don't know anything about the guy and it's a shame he's got to lose his job, but this might have been coming for a while for all we know. This is just a step the F.O is taking to resolve issues that have plagued the team all season, and may or may not help. H ell in a week I doubt anyone will even remember this news. sdogg
Bottom line, he's the scapegoat for this year. Running out of those quickly.

paulitik
That sucks. I always heard good things about him. Although, I do think I had heard he was with the Browns when that whole staph infection thing went down,

BirdWeisErrr_2
Good move. Obviously the players weren't strong enough to keep Mike Smith away from the sidelines.
Keith
Archer was saying on790 that there may have been frustration over all the soft tissue injuries and the length of time it was taking to get the players back.Maybe. Maybe not. There were times when we scratched our heads wondering what was taking so long for a player to get back.
