Wrapping Vs. Spearing

One thing that I have hated most about defenses these days is the tendency to try to dislodge the ball rather than wrapping up and tackling. Sunday was filled with DBs who constantly tried to go for the strip, or tried to upend the receivers by using their bodies as missles. This is all well and good when the objective is successful, but when it isn't, the YAC hurts so badly. There were too many instances on Sunday when we had the chance to bring them down, but decided not to. Anyone else agree?

Agree! That falls on the coaches, vets and Def player "Captains".
