Kizu_7
I personally like mike smith, and am not in the camp of fire him ... but if John Gruden was interested, how many of you would be on that bus? Dharma Initiative
Gruden is severely overrated.
Falcon fan 4 ever
I personally like mike smith, and am not in the camp of fire him ... but if John Gruden was interested, how many of you would be on that bus?Why so he can come in here and ride the coat tails of Mike Smith like he did Tony Dungy and then single handily ruin this team like he did the Bucks. You are kidding right?
RS91
No. Gruden isn't that good of a coach. He's an offensive guy who inherited a ton of great defensive players and rode Monte Kiffin's Tampa 2 to a Super Bowl. Not much different than Billick. ukfalc
No thanks.Gruden is a much better coach than Smith, but his philosophy of building around 30-something vets would cripple this team for years. We'd have a strong 2-3 years push for a title, followed by 5-10 years of cellar dwelling.
Guest Gritz
Gruden hates quarterbacks (if he's coaching them...apparently he has a man crush on all of them when doing MNF broadcasts).Overrated as a HC.....won with Dungy's players. GTJeff1975
Jon Gruden won a Supebowl with a team Tony Dungy spent years building. Fact.
Kizu_7
ok how about Tony Dungy, then ... what I'm getting at is if a GREAT coach wanted to come in, would anyone be behind that?
Keith
Gruden is severely overrated.This. We'd have a better chance with Frank Caliendo dressed up as Gruden.
Hoopaloop21
I'm happy with the job smitty has done. I wouldn't want any other coach here. Ryan stepped it up this year and we just couldnt finish but those two are cornerstones to what we currently have and I like it that way. We just need pieces on defense and to figure out our TE and RB spots and we wil be contenders this time next year, I believe.
Trufant Island
ok how about Tony Dungy, then ... what I'm getting at is if a GREAT coach wanted to come in, would anyone be behind that?i guess, but you kinda contridicted yourself in your original post. and i really think Smitty can get it done, just a perception that he doesnt stay aggresive. he was heard say "lets stay aggresive" throughtout the 2nd half of seattle and was stayed aggresive vs SF, we just came up short. blame the players, not the coach. smitty didnt miss tackles, smitty didnt commit unsportmanlike penalties. close game, but Smitty did a real good job all year. The team responds well to him

Guest Negatorris
No. If we needed a head coach we could get a much better guy.
