Game Observations:

Falcons and 49ers, two teams playing solid football, two teams that do not make many mistakes. Today, our Falcons made more mistakes than San Fran, and that was enough to lose this game.

THE GOOD

Our D had some good high points. We made some big plays when it counted, including the goal line strip that stopped a 49er drive. Three and outs in the first half with our O having great TOP threatened to tire out that 49ers D.

Our O looked like world beaters in the first half. Even GB's O did not manhandle the 49ers D like our O did.

Turner ran hard, netting some solid yardage. He was our most effective back until he hurt his ankle.

Our O line rose up to the challenge and pass blocked really well. Run blocking was not as good, might have been better if we had Turner later in the game.

Ryan's fumble did not demoralize our team, they kept playing hard.

Our D played HARD today folks, especially considering how much they were on the field in the 2nd half.

THE BAD

Our O did not make it count in the second half, obviously. Our O left our D hanging too many times, because of TO's and inability to keep drives going.

Turner's injury was HUGE, we had no way to run consistently when we needed to, to help keep the D honest and chew up some time especially later in the game.

Our pass rush got to CK once, otherwise seemed to have no real effect for the most part. Abe was a non-factor (not his fault).

Our D was on the field too much. Nicholas' PF was a very untimely penalty, he needed to keep his head there.

What...is it going to take to keep opposing TEs from dominating our D? We need to hit them at the LOS and cover 'em with at least a safety.

Our D needs some pass rush help for SURE! Maybe secondary too.

CK outplayed Ryan, sorry to say. CK beat us with his arm, mainly passing to Davis and Crabtree.

And once again, we let a team off the hook in the second half. I sure hope our team learns from this.

Let the post season mocks begin...

If you think Kaepernick out-played the Falcons, you are an idiot. Ryan went against the best D and played the best QB'ing you could and we **** near won with no D and no RUN GAME

Name calling doesnt change a thing. Two Ryan TO's vs none for CK. Our D DID keep the 49ers from capitalizing, however we saw two drives killed, drives we needed to do something with to stay in the game.

I am a big Ryan fan but if he makes mistakes, I say so. It is what it is, To his credit, Ryan came very close to driving us to a win at the end...but close isn't enough. Maybe next year.

Turner blows, wont you just admit that. he averaged like 3.7 yards a carry this year and averaged 3.8 this game.

None of our RBs did any better in this game, or in the regular season. If Turner is so bad, why did the coaches give him FAR more carries than anyone else this season?

Bill Parcells went an entire season and won a Super Bowl with a feature back averaging around 3.5 YPC. On the eve of the Super Bowl when asked why he started that particular RB, Parcells said if you run for 3.5 yards for three plays, thats a first down. Nothing wrong with that.

He also had Lawrence Taylor on Defense. Gimmie LT instead of Stephen Nicolas and Ill give you a Falcons Super Bowl.
