MilleniumFalcon
Maybe if yall would have scored in the second half things would be different. Blame the defense all you wand but you cant play ONE half of football.Mistakes is what happened. 49ers couldn't stop the Falcons first drive, ball at 30-something yard line & Ryan throws an INT. Second possession, Falcons drive again and are on the 20-something yard line, shotgun, fumble. Third possession, Falcons had the ball on the 1 & went 3 and out (only punt). Fourth possession, 70 yard drive, turnover on downs. Had plenty of opportunities to score, just made crucial mistakes and that cost them. jb 3.0
Grow the **** Up girls! You LOST! Take it like men! Do you have any idea how many holding calls they could've smacked you all with? The Falcons played a tough game. The better team won, which is the same thing Seahawk fans were having to deal with last weekend! They played their ***** off, but came up short in the end. Quit embarrassing yourselves with this, "THE REFS SCREWED US" nonsense! You sound like a group of girl scouts that just lost a volleyball match. So how does it feel to be the bottom feeders of the division now??I'll take the cellar all day long if it means I don't have to whine like a 3 year old girl after a loss! Pathetic! Be men about it and quit your whining!! Edited January 21, 2013 by jb 3.

I thought last year the 49ers were better than the Giants but Kyle Williams 2 fumbles really cost them. Just unfortunate but they played better today and that's what counts. dee-phense
Just proves the better team did not move on today. Between the refs and the mistakes really cost usComing in the Niners were favorites and have a better overall roster. Niners were the better team. And the better team did win. Not sure how you figured ATL is the better team and how they didn't lose to the Niners but instead they "gave" away the win. Get over it. HUGGY
The same penalty they called on Cliff Matthews for hands to the head was much less than Willis hitting Ryan on that 2nd and 9 at the 16 yard line. The key here was the announcer said his helmet moved. You could clearly see Ryans helmet pinned against his chest as Willis sacked him. folks this would have been first and goal at the one yard line.In other words we would be going to the Superbowl right now. Guess the refs wanted to see a 49ersPatriots SB as well. I won't even mention the no call on Roddy at the endIf anyone wants to argue this i will post the video IT WAS OBVIOUS so save yourself the embarrassmentIts a shame the refs decided the outcome at the endSorry for your loss dude. ..but blaming the refs is nonsense. There were at least two important calls that were wrong that went your way that helped change the game in your teams favor. One was the holding call against the SF lineman that was total BS and the other was the challenged pass ruled a reception..I believe it was "Johnson"? That ball was never in control and definitely hit the ground as your reciever rolled over on it. THAT was no reception! What beat you guys is the same reason you almost lost to the Seahawks...You can't hold a substantial lead. Period.I know it's hard to be objective this soon after a loss this important but as a fan with no dog in the fight that's the way I saw it. mth15
First time we've gotten this far in a while, and did the Refs cost us? No but with a stale face, too many iffy calls to say it didnt affect the outcome. Bowman clearly PI'd him but the he might not have got it anyway. The Kap one blows me, you can run 180 yds and break records but god forbid someone touch your facemask on a follow through. Its just too many iffy calls to say oh we lost this one ourselves, and while I wont blame them completely it probably change the outcome. But as a bucs fan you seriously cant say ****. Yea you got a SB...but cmon you all suck, losing season after losing season. Dont like the vibe here? go to the bucs forum

justafan2
Posted Today, 08:55 PMThe officiating gave the game to the 9'ers - or lack thereof. Example: those four S/F giants picked up J Rogers, one on each hand and foot, held him up in the air about waist height and THREW him physically down the field . this should have gotten at least a flag for unsportsmanlike conduct or excessive roughness, plus at least 15 yard penalty. Not a single ref threw a flag and instead brought up a 4th down on the Falcons, made us give up the ball! On another play where the 49'ers had gone on 4th and failed, were turning the ball over to us, the ref came up with a bogus non-existent "excessive roughness after the play" call on us -- , instead of us having the ball on their end of the field, gave them the ball on our 35. This led to them getting a touchdown, when the ball should have been in Matt's hands instead. And how about that fumbled snap that Matt fell on? The whistle should have blown, but instead the refs stood thre and let the 49'er GIANT defensive guys pile on top of him and wrestle the ball away from him -- then called it a fumble recovery, gave them yet another opportunity to score. I could go on, but it just makes me sick. Why doesn't Blank copy all those bad calls by the refs and the lack of calls when they should have, then take our case to the Referees Association and to the NFL Commissioner? Our players worked too hard this season, deserve someone in a position of influence to stand up for them to the powers-that-be. We the fans deserve the same! What does he have to lose - they might make bad calls on our team again or something? The NFL Referees Association is not affiliated with or controlled by the NFL. They are not accountalbe to anyone, according to all the info I've been able to find. They are a free-standing organization answerable only to whoever greases their palms - the gambling industry, the secondary ticket seller companies and market, etc. of all the people who make money off their decisions. What about some transparency on where their money comes from and how much? What about some means of third-party accountability to make them call fair games. Sure there are going to be some minor mistakes from time to time, but flagrant actions and nonactions that detrmine the outcome of a game more than the two teams have GOT to stop. stadawim
What it boils down to is what has already been said. We need to stop with this 'cardiac cardinal' style of play. Play the WHOLE game. Apply pressure for FOUR quarters. How can you still get on in this league by playing to sit on ANY lead????It had nothing to do with the refs. If we played like we should have/could have, this wouldn't even be a topic. Cause we shouldn't have kept it close. SkerFalcon8710
Perhaps, you could suggest to the front office that next season they have your quarterback wear a dress over bra and panties. Since when is it illegal to have someone BLEED in an NFL Game. I mean seriously, have you all just started watching football?it came after willis tried ripping his head off, stfu and go back to your 7-9 team johnny

MilleniumFalcon
atl win = atl won the gameatl lose = atl gave the game away.right.When a team outgains the other by nearly 100 yards, you do feel the game was given away. Last year against the Giants, 2 years against the Packers, those were straight beatdowns and the other team won. This game and the game 2008 against Arizona, I feel more like the Falcons gave it away.
