Anyone Watch The Game Again To See What Happen After Half

Recommended Posts

Stayed vanilla. Feared his legs and seemed to be in 'practice defending read-option/scrambling' mode all 2nd half.

As if Atlanta WAS looking ahead to SF too early. Just my opinion. Once Wilson got confidence and was rolling, Atlanta did little to adjust. Defense zone coverage break-downs over and over, Wilson usually didn't have to 'extend' plays. Plays were extended by virtue of not 'trying' to pass rush, let along ability without Abraham.

When Atlanta 'did' blitz. Weatherspoon would miss just barely. Kap isn't as elusive, though. If it was Kap I think Sean gets home at least on one of those blitzes.

^Objectively stated.

I haven't watched the game on TV yet. NFL Network is showing it Tuesday night. There was one play in the 2nd Quarter I think, that Wilson had about 10 seconds in the pocket and practically stood there holding the ball next to his hip. Good coverage but no pressure on that play. I look forward to watching it again. I think I can handle it now :-)

I'll have to re-watch it, but this is my take:

We weren't going for the shutout on defense. We were going to give up yards, give up points, and that was okay. The plan was to make them earn it(which they did). The problem was that 1) We gave up too much too quick, and our offense did not really continue in the 4th quarter what we did in the first 3. If just one of our failed drive in the 4th quarter(punts and interception) ends in a field goal, that's likely a 10 point swing.

Good points.

Heck, getting Roddy on the first drive would've been huge instead of 3. Sherman's reach got there when he was allowed to close on the slightly late on the throw, atleast more arm strength would have gotten it in.

Offense was 90% of the way there today. Defense 90% in the first half, half-arsed in the 2nd half.
