mattyicefalcon
Matt Bryant was comfortable making that distance.....so that why! Also, what if we fumbled the ball & had stupid turnover...? THe bogus call was after the FG with 6secs left to go for effin an onside kick...why the efff would you do that???? It almost cost us the game.....make your opponent every **** yard !!! Why give them freebies...we got lucky ! But, I'm zoo glad we got the monkey off our back. Tony G is my MVP of the game!! PERIOD! without him we would have choked yet again..... freefall
I asked earlier but did not get an answer, but does anyone knows if the 10 sec run off rule apply if the clock is already stopped and the offense commit a penalty(false start) inside the 2 minutes? If yes then having 13 sec is also a benefit. I doubt that was MS thinking but just thought it was interesting.
montanaman71
I don't think they were trying an onside kick. It just happened to hit the player on the leg while trying to squib

So the 10 sec run off only apply if the clock was running still correct? That makes sense.
Brehus
I wasn't too upset about the about the TO at 13 secs actually I was more upset about the squib kick that turned into a onside kick
falcons007
Here is the reason:John Manasso @jmanasso#Falcons K Matt Bryant, asked about kicking FG w/13 seconds left, pointed out what happened to #Seahawks at end of 1st half. Good point.
Duff_Man
It would have been hard to get everything set for a spike if the throw was not right on the sideline. He made the right call.Correctamundo
Scorpion
I think he panicked. Honestly. We had time to run the ball one more time even and spike it.Not sure if srs ... you would srsly risk running out of time to gain 2-3 yards max. It was suppose to be a squib kick down to around the 25 or 30 that bounces around and then the Seahawks pick it up the clock starts and then runs out before the Seahawks get tackled and boom they don't get to run an offensive play. But Bosher totally botched it. Bosher was turrible today.
The Dirty Bird
I think he panicked. Honestly. We had time to run the ball one more time even and spike it.I've seen you post for a while and you seem like a pretty intelligent poster, but what you just said is bat **** nuts and could have lost us the game.Look at what happened to Seattle before the half when they wanted to run one more play with the same amount of time left to get a closer FG. Sacked, and they don't line up in time. The LAST thing you want to do is run a play, and then when you try to line up to spike it you don't get lined up in time or you snap it and not everyone is perfectly still ---> then it's a ten second run off and the game is over.He had to have taken the time out early because if it's a bad snap the holder can pick the ball up, get outside the tackle box, and throw it away. Or throw it at the feet or an eligible linemen on a "fire" call in which the jumbo TE or whoever releases for a pass. Yes, the timing gave Seattle a chance, but a win is a win. papachaz
who knows ANYTHING about football and thinks you get an onside kick if you miss a FG????wowI too questioned the TO with 13 seconds left, after reading this thread I understand it now. Also, I don't think the kickoff was supposed to be like it was. I think it was supposed to be driven down the field, not squibbed like an onside. personally, I would have been ok with just kicking it out of the endzone and making them start from the
dudouble
I dont think its a bad call. Probably was gonna run another quick out and figured we were close enough to kick and not risk the chance of not gettin out of bounds or a sack
Falconsfan567
And maybe Smitty throught he had 2 timeouts left too. Maybe he forgot about the Falcons having to waste a timeout on defense.
TheFatboi
smh, run it down to 3 seconds!!!Because if you botch the snap on the attempt it's only first down. You can lineup and attempt again.
dmite
I'm guessing he didn't realize we were in far enough for MB and in case they wanted to try to get some more yards, call TO. He probably asked Bryant if he needed more yards, Bryant said, "No." Ok, go kick it.
