RazorTalon
If Caldwell goes after Nolan its ALL OUT WAR.
DonDaLuvMaker
Schefter just said on Sportscenter that the Jags want a fresh face that has not been a head coach before. Greg Roman and Brian Shottenheimer are top candidates.
Guest facelessman07
Just heard that Schefter reported that Jags want a young coach who hasn't had a HC job in the NFL. Brian Schottenheimer and the 49ers OC were on that list. On the latest report, no mention of NolanRest easy my brethren, for now.
turnerdburner
Hey one thing I don't do is make things up if its not reported or seen one tv I won't post it I saw it on sportcenter Adam Schefter said it and also said that the 49ners oc is also on their radar, when he said I thought back to the tread that said david caldwell stay away from mike nolan. I'm not a troll and would start sumthing like that.
turnerdburner
He said the first time it was reported I jus saw that other report that you all are talking. I for one don't want mike nolan left and hope he stays here like the steelers dc

Guest facelessman07
Maybe Blank took my advice and gave Nolan a nice little promotion and raise Edited January 10, 2013 by facelessman07

hammerhead
What do you expect from the jags no matter whom owns the team . that team makes knee jerk decisions one after another . Any coach that puts his name in the hat for a position on that team is not looking out for his family or his future .
Knight of God
??????You fire a guy after one season. No draft of his VERY own, no opportunity to fix mistakes. So its just expected to come in a be a winning team with a losing core as well as no MJD. That sucks and I won't get behind it.I'm not a bandwagon follow the group type of guy. I think my own way and live my own way and see things my own way. I watch VERY little television and when I see something that I'm against I am not afraid or ashamed to say it...regardless of how some HERE may feel about it.I have no ill will towards him, BvG, Petrino, Vick, Steve Young, or any other perceived Falcons bogeyman. That type of thinking isn't in my wiring. So, I was hoping for MM to have a good career and turn things around for himself and it didn't work out. To me, his getting fired without much help is messed up.

To me, his getting fired without much help is messed up.I get what you are saying but in the end he was Gene Smith's guy, not Dave Caldwell's. You can't realistically expect to bring in a GM and tell him that he can't have his own guy as HC. Ultimately the HC's success will determine in large part if Caldwell still has a job a few years from now. Perhaps the Jags should have given MM another year, if that were the case they would have had to keep Gene Smith on as well and I think we can all agree that Smith needed to go. I don't really see anything wrong with MM getting let go, its the nature of the beast. If you are going to be successful in the NFL you have to have people working under you that fit what you are trying to do. Caldwell owes MM absolutely nothing, it wasn't his hire and he shouldn't be expected to keep him on just for the sake of fairness. Its his job to get the best HC to help turn the team around and if he didn't think MM was the guy for the job then that is his call. Scorpion
This is not cool at all.... I was neve a big fan of Mularky but cmon the dood didnt even get a chance. So now who is gonna wanna go there when they know coaches get fired after one year.On top of that the fact that they fired them like 10 days after rest of the coaches got fired is very stupid of them. I mean all the good candidates have already been interviewed by other teams and some have even been hired so they wont have as many options as they would if they fired him on black monday.
