Peyton
Matt Ryan IS the Brett Favre or Montana of this franchise. He's building as he goes. There has to be the first guy to have guys tfollow. Montana built his own. HE put the pressure on guys behind him like Steve Young. Before Montana there wasn't even a Bartkowski for that franchise. The Falcons were relatively still a baby organization in the grand scheme of things compared to teams like GB, Baltimore/Indy, NY, Pitt, Chi etc...Success has to start at some point. This is that point. It started in 08. They've achieved milestones each year since then, now they have to achieve playoff success milestones. Sometimes the book is written as you go. Atlanta didn't come into the game with a great owner like most storied franchises. Arthur Blank changed that and is a great owner who has changed the culture for this team and the culture is steadily growing and increasing in learning how to win. It's amazing how consistent this team wins. I dread what will happen when this team eventually has a down year, which is bound to happen at some time. Our fans just take getting to the playoffs for granted now. Think this franchise might be behind in the "good year" category for its history and is about to make up for all the failure the fans have endured. I think some guys just aren't happy with WHO is playing certain positions vs the success of the team overall. I could care less who it is, I just want success in the end. Years later ppl will look back and see what Ryan left behind if he keeps the level of play he's had over the last 5 years. It just didn't look the way they wanted. Everyone always tends to think their book is better than it actually is. Edited January 10, 2013 by Mr. Right
Mr. Right
Mr. Right has trouble sleepin' at night. He has bad dreams like Matt Ryan winning the MVP in the Super Bowl. He wakes up scared. Sometimes it takes him while to remember where he is.HeI doesn't like it here. He's tired of being afraid all the time. He's decided not to stay. He doubts they'll kick up any fuss. Not for an old troll like him.Trouble sleeping? Well I can't wait for this game that's for sure. Rodd vs. Browner and Julio vs. Sherman. Ryan vs a good D and Wilson and Lynch vs. Mike Nolan. Edited January 10, 2013 by Mr. Right
TheFatboi
I agree that the book is being written as we go but I'm not sure if this version of the book will be published. That remains to be seen. I think it will. So far there's nothing to make me think otherwise. I really think the braintrust of this organization will continue to build cohesiveness. That's something this franchise never had. Wether it was Bartkowski to Chandler to Vick. The Matt Ryan era has that now. And it's only been 5 short years. All the organizations our fans covet have had that cohesiveness in place for YEARS. GB, Pitt, NY, SF, NE. Tuna built the New England that Belichik took over and continued to build. It didn't just happen. But once you put pieces in place and add to it you start something great. That's what Blank has done. Blank is a winner. It all started with him and he hand picked ppl that came from winning organizations who knows what winning looks like. That's the story inside the story that ppl kinda gloss over.

And it's only going to be more and more true in the future.
Ergo Proxy
Thing is, if you remember to just play and win none of the past matters. This is all psychological talk. Atlanta is hungry for playoff success.
