Clemons is out. Bruce Irvin hasn't started a single game this year and was drafted to be his replacement, correct me if i'm wrong. So we can expect Irvin to start next week but what about their other personnel? I don't really know who they have outside of Mebane? What should we expect from Irvin?

Irvin is our pass rush specialist-in-training. He was drafted to learn from Clemons, and eventually take over for him. He has 8 sacks, while playing primarily on 3rd downs.

On 1st and 2nd downs, Clemons played opposite Red Bryant. Bryant being the run stopper, and Clem the pass rusher, tho he isn't bad at stopping the run either. Both Clem and Irvin are in the 240-250 lb range, while Red is listed at 323. Mebane is our primary interior run stopper.

With Clem down, and Jason Jones (our main interior pass rusher) on IR, I'm worried about our pass rush. But as long as we get pressure, and cause Ryan to throw early, that should be good enough.

thanks for the info. One thing is irvin did pretty good with 8 sacks just playing 3rd downs, but he also had Clem out there with him. He may not be quite as effective without Clem but we'll see come game time. That was a huge loss for you which sucks as a fan, but we also may not have our best pass rusher suiting up.

They don't have a lot of sacks or pass rushers really. I know they nearly killed Rodgers earlier in the season though. No Clemons, and Jones so Ryan should have time. I like Irvin, but we need to run at him, no need to run at Bryant. A. Branch played a good game yesterday, and could be a problem.

There are no beasts on the line, so as long as McClure/Konz hold up, Ryan should have time. Irvin will get some pressure, a sack, but should be contained.

Give Ryan time, control their run game, we win no problem.

Hate he got hurt, but as a fan I got to feel grateful this will help negate the loss of Abe if he cant go.
