I believe the idea was to portray Asante in his usual upbeat, cheerful mood, because well, that's how we've come to know him. I think the premise of using this photo was to stay positive, as Asante usually does (at least on the field and in practice), because we expect nothing less from him, and we shouldn't. Yes, it's important and necessary to grieve lost loved ones, especially parents, but we should remember to always look forward.

I do understand that mistakes happen, but this is just one more example of the incompetence that comes from The AJC & Ledbetter in particular. If this was a singular incident then maybe they could get a pass, but residents of Atlanta have witnessed this once very good news publication just become an insult, & it happens to often now to be viewed as mistakes.

I'd say that falls on the editors & not D Led. My guess is D Led writes the articles but someone else is responsible for layout & photos that accompany articles.
