LMNOP
there was a quote tonight after the game from a gator writer and they were talking to brissett and he said it will be awfully hard to leave florida, but he is looking at his options.Shoot I would, they have given him almost no chance to get playing time. He proved he was better in their freshman years and it was pretty clear, and then this year they gave Driskell all the opportunitys possible while only giving Brissett 1 drive to prove he should start or not, and if Im not mistaken that drive was filled with hand offs to Gillislee. Falconsfan567
Not buying that with Florida. They got into the Sugar Bowl over a Georgia team that deserved it more. What's the letdown supposed to be??? They weren't in any realistic mix to play for a national title, didn't have a heartbreaking loss in Atlanta... yet the team that did WON their bowl game by two touchdowns.I thought the entitlement syndrome was fleeting under Muschamp, but I guess not. He looked utterly helpless on the sideline. Like he knew he lost his team for this game.Just garbage. With Bama there was a significant disappointment after losing in Atlanta that they just couldn't shake. There's simply no excuse for Florida playing like that here imo... but I halfway believe Louisville honest to goodness smoked them and they just gave in.Florida didn't even sell all of their tickets. That's pathetic considering the short distance from Gainesville to New Orleans. Louisville had far more fans there than Florida did.

Falconsfan567
i missed that because i was working late.. he spent the whole day with archie manning and we know if he asked archie anything what he would say about leaving early. i just know what aaron has told a few guys already and someone on this board knows his family and was told he is staying as well so that's what we have heard. now he might change his mind, but if so we will be fine imo with hutson mason. how good can hutson be? no idea, but i have seen him in person a number of times and he will do well if he gets his chance. if murray comes back like i expect and with who we return on our offensive line, rbs, tes, and wrs and who we add we have a chance offensively to do even more special things this coming year. we will have to early due to replacing guys on our defensive unit. What kind of work do you do that you get to hang out with Archie Manning? SacFalcFan
one of the best signs i have seen this year and from an louisville fan.
DawgBone
That performance was reminiscent of last year's Florida State game. I said it after the Bowling Green and I'll say it again - Jeff Driskel has the WORST pocket awareness of any QB in a big time program I've ever seen. He has not improved that aspect of his game one bit over the course of the season.
GAbred
First off, I can't stand Florida. With that said, I don't agree with their performance meaning much of anything. Losing the players means a lot. But at the end of the day did this Florida team overachieve or underachieve this year? I'd say they were better than expected. So that could happen again. They have plenty of talent. Georgia's defense should have been great this year, but they were average most of the time. An exhibition game with a lot of players thinking about their NFL future does not predict performance next year.I just think a lot happens between now and next season for all teams. DawgBone
Fair points but still, the Sugar Bowl is a prestigious game even though Florida got a subpar matchup. How many times did you see Florida fans ribbing Georgia because they were playing in a BCS bowl while Georgia was not? Maybe they should have taken it as seriously as Louisville clearly did. And I can guarantee you that whatever the players were thinking, Muschamp badly wanted to win that game.

They didn't get passed over for a bowl they deserved to be in. Elam sure wasn't playing not to get injured...he brought it all night. And one thing that I think is so dumb is watching guys gloating when they are being taken to the woodshed. That Florida DL, can't remember his number, looked foolish with his antics...at the time it was 33-10!
DawgBone
at the time it was 33-10!And if not for Florida's late 1st half TD and Louisville's propensity for leaving points on the field all night it could have been much, much worse. Isosceles
i just couldn't understand that.. after they got down they didn't do any hurry up.. there was no and i mean no urgency.Dean Legge @Dawg_PostFlorida's loss in the Sugar Bowl means Georgia is in very good position to finish 2012 in the top five.I think they are there, Sac. Either Oregon or KState will be eliminated from finishing Top 5. Stanford probably has the other available spot. I think no team left, no matter how they win, will jump up that high.J
DeaconDawg
I remember watching the gators about half way through the season and the commentator (can't remember if it was CBS or ESPN) was talking about how great Driskell is. He said something to the effect of him being the best QB in the SEC right now...... I laughed so hard I think I peed a little. I feel bad for a guy that has to play QB in the SEC with ZERO pocket awareness.

Driskel and the forward pass are allergic to each other and he has the lowest field/pocket awareness of any QB I've seen in quite some time. If it weren't for UGA's mishaps in the game, the Cocktail would have been more lopsided than the Sugar Bowl was. Driskel was peeing all over himself anytime he had to drop back. He admitted that years and years ago. Him and Matt Diaz used to have some good bets on the Florida/Florida State game ever year (because Diaz went to FSU). Kilgore Trout
A really cool, but at the same time really sad picture from last night. This is Darren Kitchens. How did Georgia deserve to be in the Sugar Bowl more than Florida??There isn't a team in the country that had a better resume than the Florida Gators. We beat Texas A&M, LSU, USC, and FSU. You guys beat us and literally nobody else worth mentioning, and we were ranked higher than you at the end of the year.If you want to take issue with the rule that a conference is only allowed to have 2 teams in the BCS, sure, I'm with you 100%, but nobody "deserved" to be in the Sugar Bowl over Florida.
