PokerSteve
Here's one of those times the HC really earns his pay because it's critical for him to know 1.) How much work or rest the team needs 2.) How to make the best possible use of the time the players will be on the field or in meetings and 3.) How to combine the rest, the practices and the meetings to have his team at their emotional and physical peak when they take the field for their play-off game. Mike Smith has struggled to come up with the winning formula his previous three attempts, but give him credit for deciding to go in a completely different direction for this year's post-season. vel
The thing about Smitty is he isn't going to let the same things happen that stopped us the last two times. First was how we rested players last year in the last game. Then it was holding our plays because our whole playbook was on film last time. In 2010, we took it way easy during the bye week and lost our fire by getting complacent. Smitty's moves are all because of prior failures.
