LVfalconfan
He is going to fail miserably in the NFL. That two offenses crap will be laughed off the field. Teams have a hard time finding a good starting offense and **** magically find 2 and alternate plays? I'm tired of hearing that he will revolutionize the NFL. He will suck. falcons007
Let the man get his chance, who knows he might be next Jim Harbaugh or he might end up being Petrino or Nick Saban.
LVfalconfan
Saban actually would be a good NFL coach. He wanted Brees in Miami but Ross insisted on Culpepper. ****** Ross bee wouldn't have to deal with mole face if he didn't screw that up. youngbloodz
Yeah a couple of the sentences made no sense. And Chip could be the next Pete Carroll or Jim Harbaugh.
youngbloodz
Saban was decent in Miami. His team won 7 games one year
LVfalconfan
I was referring to the way he has two starting offenses and alternates them to run more plays. I just don't see that really tricking anyone. Maybe you can tire them out? But one of the offenses will have to be horrible.
stumpjumper
Chip Kelly might leave cause Oregon is in trouble with the NCAA.
FalconDrifter
I'll take Chip as OC if Dirk leaves.
papachaz
Chip Kelly might leave cause Oregon is in trouble with the NCAA.i'm gonna have to look that up. I've heard it, but don't know any details.I do agree that Saban would have made it if he hadn't realized he had much different goals and ideas than the owner he went to work for. Not getting Mr Wobbles really made him second guess his decision to take that job. He took a team that had a pathetic season, turned it around somewhat the next couple of seasons. In reality, they paid him for his relationships with athletes (especially Seastrunk), and he sent them scouting reports several years old when Oregon realized they were about to be in trouble. autigerfan
Unless Kelly replaces Rivera in Carolina or he goes to the team that ultimately draft Geno Smith I don't see his spread offense being successful in the NFL. You have to have an elite at the QB position to make it work.
birdz4i
so comparing him to half a man that was here for 13 games makes this tatf? interesting
falcons007
Saban was decent in Miami. His team won 7 games one yearMy point was more on bolting back to college with a short stint in nfl. midtownfalcon
I don't think he will have much success in the NFL...those teams havent done well against the top defenses...its an offense that preys on weak opponents and struggles when facing the better ones...every NFL team has personel to counter what he does there...with several years to get the personell he needs he could have some success but I just think it will take longer than the typical NFL team is willing to struggle. Mr. Hoopah!
This thread and the thread title is ********. Chip Kelly in no way whatsoever compares to Petrino. To make the comparison is lazy and intellectually dishonest. If any of you think Chip Kelly will trot out the exact same offense he runs at Oregon onto an NFL team, you're not very smart. Kelly is a brilliant coach, he will instill an offense that will put his team in a position to succeed. Whether or not he will actually succeed is to be seen, but he will not turn an NFL team into the Ducks.
