birdz4i
Michael Turner was more important to the Falcons in 2008. Sure. This ain't 2008 bro. This is 2012 and the Falcons would be 5-10 without Ryan. Checkmate, Goodnite.Because his nickname is All Day.oh please. you take ryan out, you are forced to establish more of a running game. tebow could come in and take this team to a .500 record with 2 pro bowl caliber wrs and a pro bowl te, with the way the defense has played this year. this is not new england with a bunch of no names at wr that turned into something because of their qb, actually quite the contrary. matt ryan has needed 2 first round wrs and a 1st round te to get where he has finally gotten this year. FALCOHOLIC93
Really?Well i think he deserves it. He is the only running back that could do that with a terrible supporting cast. There are 3 or 4 quarterbacks that could do what peyton is doing.
k-train
take a very good look at Brady and Rodgers touchdowns and interceptions those are the only 2 that I can remember that just had unbelievable seasons as passers. I can't remember anyone else's stats but those 2 stand outThe point is that the stats only play so much of a part in the MVP race. Sure AP is statistically having one of the better seasons for a HB ever, but it's generating wins (and a good number of them) that really seems to matter. IF Minny can beat GB (who will be playing for a chance at the #2 seed), they would be 10-6 & in the playoffs... which might just barely be enough to get him some serious consideration. But keep in mind that since the strike shortened season in 1982, only 3 players have won the MVP award while playing on a team w/ less than 11 wins. The defense hasn't been great every game. What about the Saints game we lost? Ryan had 3 touchdowns and over 400 yards and put up 27 points and we lost because the defense didn't do their part. Then there is the game like the Cardinals game that we won because of the defense doing their part. That's what makes a team. But Ryan's clutch performances in the 4th quarter in leading us on scoring drives when we needed them is what has made the difference. We wouldn't be 13-2 or anywhere near that with McCown or Davis playing QB. We would be a 5 or 6 win team.

It wouldn't be Tebow or anyone else. That's why I can say without Ryan the Falcons would be a 5 or 6 win team.Did the Colts have a top notch QB without Peyton Manning last season? No. They had Curtis Painter and Kerry Collins.
Karst41
The MVP award goes to the player who is most valuble to their team. I think AP deserves it hands down.Manning,, you aint never seen nothing like this before, and likely never will again.

That's what I mean when I say we would be a 5 or 6 win team without Ryan. That's what people mean when they say things like that. And the Vikings wouldn't be 9-6 without AP. AP has accounted for just 77 of those points. So, somebody not named AP is scoring. Also, their D is ranked 7 spots higher than ours, 4 spots higher than Baltimore, 11 spots higher than NE, 10 spots higher than Indy, 14 spots higher than the Giants, and 3 spots higher than Dallas... all of whom are either in the playoffs, or have a shot at making it. k-train
and who put them in position to score in the first place?AP has 11 TDs. The Vikes D & ST have 8TDs. He is a large part of their success for sure. Nobody is saying he isn't. He is easily the MVP of the Minnesota Vikings, but to say that the guy is the MVP of the league is laughable. Captain Falcon
no its not completely different. It showcases whop the best player is tthroughout the league. People actually thought cam was the best rookie in the league last year yet they only won what, 6 games. That wasn't deserving. As of right now the Vikings are in the playoffs. Who knows what will happen on Sunday. Maybe they win, maybe they lose. Either way it goes, AP has the numbers that throw him up their with the elite offensive players in the league and is the Vikings best player so I see no reason why he shouldn't win it.So if the best player plays for a 4-12 team, he should be MVP? And the Vikings play the Packers Sunday. I think they will lose and miss the playoffs, but who knows I guess.
