To me the MVP is a player who single handedly elevates an entire team

and gives the team a legitmate shot at the ploaoffs.

Typically this also has Team or League records attached.

AP more than Qualifies

Manning Qualifies

Ryan Qualifies

Brady,, uh well if we do not include him in the talks a penalty

plus a fine from Goddell will be handed down.

Ryan could care less The Lombardi>MVP

So I say let Ryan be the MVP of the SB so he can give me

the fancy car, because Ryan already drives a car that is nicer,

and it is a 2008.

thanks to ponder stinking up the joint, since that wonderful start you were tryin to say he had.

But if AP is really super man he should be able to overcome that. Same goes for Calvin Johnson. Oh wait a second. Maybe that proves once and for all that QB is indeed the most important position on the field and has more impact on W/L record than any other position in football. Maybe that's why the MVP almost always goes to a QB.

AP and Peyton are having a great season, but people are saying how great it is due to their injuries. That's called comeback player of the year. Nobody is saying Calvin is MVP and he just broke a huge record. So if he was hurt last year should he be MVP? No again it's comeback player of the year unless you would give them MVP taking injuries out of it.

Yea, no problem. AP has a season ending knee injury, comes back like gangbusters, pushing the bar far above what is a respectable norm for recovery, then proceeds to be the best RB in the land right off the bat without skipping a beat. I dont know where you come from bro, but he has my respect and you'll never see me second guessing the mvp if his name gets called. Good grief...

The MVP award goes to the player who is most valuble to their team. I think AP deserves it hands down.

This is half correct. judging by the past winners, it goes to a player judged to be the most valuable on a team with a substantial winning record and/or playoff success. If the Viking even make the playoffs and then can win while there, then maybe AP does deserve it "hands down", but until then... nope.

previous winners:

2011: Aaron Rodgers (15-1)

2010: Tom Brady (14-2)

2009: Peyton Manning (14-2)

2008: Peyton Manning (12-4)

2007: Tom Brady (16-0)

2006: LaDainian Tomlinson (14-2)

2005: Shaun Alexander (13-3)

2004: Peyton Manning (12-4)

2003: Peyton Manning (12-4) & Steve McNair (12-4)

2002: Rich Gannon (11-5)

2001: Kurt Warner (14-2)

2000: Marshall Faulk (10-6) he had 1359 yards & 18 TDs rushing + 830 yards & 8 TDs receiving

1999: Kurt Warner (13-3)

1998: Terrell Davis (14-2)

1997: Brett Favre (13-3) & Barry Sanders (9-7 made the playoffs) he had 2053 yards & 11 TDs rushing + 305 yards & 3 TDs receiving

so, we have to go all the way back to Barry Sanders in 1997 to find a similar situation to AP, and keep in mind that even then , Sanders didn't win the award outright, or "hands down".

take a very good look at Brady and Rodgers touchdowns and interceptions those are the only 2 that I can remember that just had unbelievable seasons as passers. I can't remember anyone else's stats but those 2 stand out
