Butudontseeme™
The only Super Bowl they won was because of their defense. Peyton played like complete garbage in the playoffs in 2006 and the Colts defense carried them.I know. But that defense was terrible in the regular season and even tony dungy said he didn't really know what triggered them playin so well in the playoffs. If they had had a semi dominant defense with regularity all those years, I say 3-4 superbowls like the patriots.

They got him back and boom their defense started playing great. We've seen how much we've missed Weatherspoon and/or Moore when they're out. The colts' main problem was lack of solid corners and olb's.
Knight of God
You know why no one is buying Ryan as MVP? Roddy, Julio, and Gonzalez. Many still think that if you put "a guy" there, the Falcons lose only 2 games that we won and still look like a 12-4 team going into the playoffs.Without AD, the Vikes are picking in the top 5 to 10. Those things weren't held against Peyton so why are they held against Ryan?

The word on the streets is that Wayne and Harrison would not be Wayne and Harrison without Manning.
Falconsfan567
Because the defense wasn't all that great. In fact it was pretty bad. The word on the streets is that Wayne and Harrison would not be Wayne and Harrison without Manning. The Falcons defense this season isn't all that great. We are 23rd in yards given up. Meaning teams are able to put drives together against us which limits the offensive possessions we get. If it weren't for the turnovers we're able to get on defense we wouldn't be the 4th best scoring defense in the NFL. But we are.

I don't feel you can discount a player's accomplishments simply because of the players that surround him. That's the kind of logic Swift will use to discount Ryan if, and when, we win a Super Bowl. Outside of some here, the general census tends to think differently (those who vote for MVP). They tend to think we have a top 5-10 defense with one of the best secondaries and schemes in the league. They also tend to think that without Ryan we are still a winning team. Its not worth an argument with me. MVP is Most Valuable (or sometimes valued) Player. It tends to make reference to a player that has single handedly done wonders for a team. You and I may think that is Ryan, but brother...that could be bias. I wouldn't know, I'm the one with the bias.I have to wonder about one thing though...what is our record WITH Peterson??? sideline
Agreed. While he's had a great comeback season, He's not the one. He has a lot of support. A coworker told me that she doesn't like Denver, but she likes Payton. Interesting thing, she does not even know their record!!!

Just saying that I couldn't understand why if we held a vote on here AP would win it when this is supposed to be a Falcons message board. I figure everyone here would love to see Ryan win it. But I'm talking about on this MB. Here. I'll prove it to you. Let's see who gets the most votes.

TorontoFalcons
AP is deff the MVP, he has carried the vikings all year long. People argue that he has so many rush yards because ponder cant execute a passing offense. Yes we know AP gets lots of carries, but the fact is that he has a 6.2 yard per carry. Defenses are loading up on Peterson, and he is still beasting through.
